小朋友返學開心嗎？老師有愛心嗎？

From the previous info shared by other boxhill mamis, it is a very good school, with systematic education. Teachers are caring for kids, very responsible over students' behavior and their study.

The only thing I concern is that the school do not have direct link with ESF primary, and this year I can still get interview priority from ESF WKS, but definitely boxhill will be more competitive over esf kinder from next academic year due to the new esf policy.

sure, they have K3, but most of the kids graduate after K2 and move to IS primary

問了學校, 每日都會有cantoness / mandarin 時間約30分鐘 (還是20mins... 我忘記了).
另外, 根據其他媽媽的分享, boxhill 教的中文情度也ok的.

老師有愛心, 學生讀得好開心, 主要英語教學... 到左k3, 因小朋友mainly 會讀番local primary, 中文學習會相對地加強... 囝囝現時k3, 每日有30min cantonese (認字, 文法) + 30 min PTH, 中文程度我覺得一d 都唔淺, 而家有作句子, 唔擔心接唔上local 學校

我囝囝會升讀一間 IB 小學 (私校)... 同學仔亦有直資/ 私校 offer我囝囝在外從未上過中, 英, 數班... 需唔需要額外協助小朋友, 相信好視乎家長要求 & target 邊類型小學

frankly, 我地冇研究過 IB 小學可唔可以接上non-IB 中學, 因為我地係一心想行IB... 至於補唔補中英數, 好視乎家長要求啦

K1 有連線, 填色, 下學期開始有好簡單寫字, K2一開始已經有中文功課, 如寫字, 認字, K3 會多左中文功課, 有寫句子... 反而英文, 數學比較少, 多在課堂做好, 會派番比家長知進度... 另外每星期有READING, 一本中文, 一本英文書, 小朋友睇完畫番相關圖晝... 長假期會有少量功課

基本上功課量比起local kinder 會少, 但我覺得功課多少唔係最主要考慮因素... 最重要係家長buy 唔 buy BOXHILL 套教學方法, 家長打算比小朋友升讀邊類型小學, 小朋友又適合接受邊類型教育等等...

Waa only 2 students? They all left for international schools in k2? How was it like with such a small class?

Actually only 11 students in k2 last year... some were admitted to IS, some went back to home country, and some moved to HK side ...

Boxhill offers mixed class of K2/k3 this year (for group activities like circle time, show & tell), while the 2 k3 kids will have separate class for Eng phonics & Chinese (30 min each)... We're pretty much satisfied with this arrangement. I guess the class size for k2 & k3 will be much larger in coming years.

So u mean 2 hrs with k2 and 1 hr with k3 students only? Would the content of learning be repeated as they spend so much time with the k2?

But it's gd that phonics and Chinese are separated. Teacher can focus on them much more.

The theme might repeat, but I think the content for those circle times, show & tell etc is not that important. Actually I can see the great improvement for my kid, both in Eng / Chinese learning and confidence! Perhaps he thought that he's a big boy in class now and he always play a role of 大哥哥 and help to take care of the k2 kids.

Anyway this arrangement might become 絕嚮 as I believe the class size for k3 won't be that small in coming years!

True I can see its a way to build up confidence. The reason I choose bh is because I can see they can help my child in this too.

Since he goes to the new campus and be the first batch of k1 so the same might happens.

How abt the maths? K2 and k3 shd b at different levels too? Will they be in a mixed or separate class?

Btw what do u think abt the maths training in bh? Is it comparable to the local kindies?
