About 90% esf wks got accepted by either esf primary or pis.

Thanks FattyDaddy! Do you mean some odd comments say that it's difficult for ESF kindie kids to go to ESF primary? That'd be very odd indeed!

My own experience with ESF kindie is also as Fatty Daddy says. Perhaps it's because we are on HK island and the number of kindie places at Hillside (190) is less than half of total Y1 places on HK side (over 500).

In fact even the kids i know who joined only in K2 (so no actual priority) managed to get letters for interviews (some confirmed places, some waitlist ones.) And so far, I have yet to hear of any kids in our ESF kindie who failed the interview. Everyone I know (and I know quite a few, given I'm a regular parent volunteer) have passed!

Put it this way, if the child is currently studying in an ESF kindergarten, the kindergarten would know what are the child's chances of being admitted to an ESF primary school. They have close ties to the primary schools and have been sending pupils to these schools for so many years that they are very much in a position to provide an accurate assessment. If they think a child might have difficulty in passing the interview they would inform the parents in advance so that something could be done about it. The interview result ought not be a surprise, unless the parents never listened.

FattyDaddy, I totally agreed with you as they are very open and direct about the children's performance at school.
