Depends on the kid's standard, my kid did some past papers and sit for the test. Most of his classmates are not go for revision classes.

可謂高分，7-9，普普通通啦。
既然擔心，上堂啦。可以重考，但有效期是兩年。

香港學生，英文水平高的都可得7-9分。speaking係最難取高分。
我安排阿仔私補speaking考多次，全份卷就靚好多~

The validity of IELTS test usually lasts for 2 years. There is no point to take the examination long before it is used. The best time to take is the final year or the penultimate final year of high school (or university) unless you take it for practice.

6.xx 是整體平均，如果細分，法律，醫，環球商業等平均有7.xx。

係啊！我識位中四英中名校女生考到7. speaking就只得6.
我阿仔都考到7, speaking就只得5.
我也識一科大生精算系考到6, speaking就只得5.
So, 我猜英文水平好的香港學生IELTS會有7以上。

教會名女校中六、七通通常都考到7.5分，小女中七時考到7.5分，今年大三考到8分.

其實好睇你要考幾多分先〜 正常考試之前穩private tutoring 補一至兩個月應該就okay〜不過最緊要都繫平時積累.

IELTS, like other tests, is not a English learning course. You learn good English then do the test. Doing specific English course for IELTS or Cambridge is putting the cart before the horse.

9 已經系最高級數,唔系普普通通,
考到 8 既英文水平就一定達標入牛津劍橋

Smallfoothk 在另一個帖問相關問題，有網友以7-9，是普普通通。我以此作笑話作開始而已。其他家長不知前因，以為我扮嘢。
香港平均低於7，除了之前我所講的學系。
牛劍，LSE是平均7.5, 每部份不低於7.0。

Depends. If the kid's standard is low, then he/ her need lessons. Otherwise, just find someone who knows grammar to test him a bit and find out his weak links in Grammar, and perhaps a few speaking lessons and he'll be fine

IELTS is for studying in the UK, TOFEL for studying in the USA.

如果孩子英文底子唔差，唔上堂都可以，但要熟習考試模式，在坊間買些練習都夠。
