唔係八歲起咩?
一般對數學有興趣的學生都可取良好 (Merit)、優異 (Distinction) ,係對小朋友能力的認同,獎狀以外還有報告，
報告會列出小朋友各題的對錯。由於不是比賽，別期望學校會記優點，但值得參加。

「世界數學測試」由英國政府教育及技能部轄下的英國資歷及課程發展局於2001年創辦，是一項國際評級標準的資優學生測試，測試的主要對象為 8-11 及12-14 歲兩大組別的學生，測試內容主要分為數學及解難能力兩個科目。

「世界數學測試」的題目內容由英國著名大學教授設計，強調挑戰性及趣味性，著重解決問題的技巧多於數學科的知識，讓學生在解決問題的過程中，培養及訓練個人的邏輯思維，提昇高層次的思維能力。

由於測試並不按照校內課程內容設計，與學科成績無關。學生無須預先溫習特定的範圍，因此同學們可輕鬆地進行測試。

咁想問因為見D內容好似比較深, 好似三年級仲未教, 咁咪多數唔識囉, 同埋讀佢地既課程先係咪會對考出黎既成績好D? 咁讀完對校內既成績會唔會好D?

識唔識好睇小朋友，2012年有小一生獲得雙優。
你可以買本試題給小朋友做下，同參加每日一數，小朋友可以自行做對90%以上的話，應該可以攞到Distinction。

我大仔9歲，有BK媽咪個囝囝8歲攞雙優！

佢考嗰D題目，唔喺學校教嗰D，識唔識要睇小朋友本身對數學敏感度同邏輯性強唔強，我覺得冇得操。

佢分兩個部份，數學部份取得distinction唔難，解難部份都幾難咖！

The P1 student in the 2012 Spring only got the most outstanding award in P1, not the youngest candidate with double distinctions. May be he is the only candidate of P1.

循道學校蔡榮摯上年先攞完小學組最細年紀雙優，今年就攞中學組，好勁！！

啟新書院 F1 = local school P6

Not sure for other international schools

Not really. Should have a few scholarships for the top students.... my son needed to self-finance.

If the programs are fit his interest, it's a great and eye opening opportunity.

I shard his experience in my blog under gifted education. Like visit Barclays Capital to understand how to use Maths model in finance, how to prepare business plan to sell the banker for financing....... Pretty similar to some IB teaching methods.

BTW, take it as exposure or OLE, dont take it as competitive advantage in university admission. Admission officers in HK U's still just focus on **, for better grade students just worry about they will come or not.
