I wanna let my son try. Anyone has any comments about HK Fencing School at Kornhill? Any other centers in HK Island that you know? Thanks.

我囡囡係佢旺角分校學劍的，都學左五年有多。教練都OK。佢會要求小朋友做好基本功。而且都會定期舉辦賽事讓學員有比賽經驗。你可以上返佢哋的網頁，睇睇佢哋的資料。一般初學都會提供保護裝備同劍。所以唔使擔心一開始就要花一筆費用去買裝備。

其實，有時除左教練，都要睇返學員係抱住什麼心態去學。

Thanks. Sometimes I played "fencing" game with my son at home, he seems like it. But never know how exactly he feels about this sports until he tries it. Shall let him try in March. Thanks.

you are right. the children's attitude is important too. Is the learning area very big in Pak Yu? the one we are going isn't too big.

佢哋係柏裕有三個場地上堂，2個係10樓，1個係24樓，所以都唔算太迫。有機會可以親身去睇睇。其實依家都多左好多小朋友去學劍，睇住D三四歲小朋友打劍，好可愛!

Oh well, sounds that this Fencing school is quite well established. Besides swimming, Fencing is one of the sports that has competitions for children aged 4/5.

my son began fencing in kornhill HK Fencing school from summer vacation. Instructors are good. And they have periodic competitions to participate. They are also trainers for many top rated primary schools' fencing team.

He need to purchase full set of equipment just after 6 months. So there should be enough time to see if the child is interested at all.

I'm considering to let my son to join their upcoming spring course. How old was your son when he kicked start in the lesson? How many children in a class?

個人堂好處係教練可以即時指出學員錯誤並即時加以改正，對學員的基本功有好處。但劍擊始終係會面對比賽，除非唔打算去參加任何比賽，實戰經驗都好重要。依樣就係個人堂比唔到。我覺得最好係先上小組，之後再加一二次個人堂，咁就可以互補不足。

my son started last summer when he was 4years old. It's ok and whole class is of the same age. around 7-8 kids per class. we just attempted a competition last weekend. It's good for showing my son how is he compared with other kids. I think he will be more serious in class now.
