If i don't get email or letter by 5/1, does it mean we r rejected or r they giving out rejection letters? I know they r doing sec in already. Or even done.

Congratulations !!!

If the format is the same as last year, in the second interview one of the VPs would meet the family. There would be some chatting about standard questions e.g. why do you choose the school? what would be your expectations? If your family is non-chinese-speaking, what would be your plan in supporting your child in the schoolwork?

Though I also heard some failed cases but the success rate should be high at this stage. So relax and think about those questions beforehand.

Thanks for your reply.
Just recalled there will be no preference to the language of the Parent-Child interview (like what it said in the email) as ISF knows we might not be a native English or Mandarin speakers. We may choose Cantonese!

Our interview is next wed. We picked Cantonese too. I heard it does not really matter.

Correct me if I am wrong. Heard there were 2500 applicants this year and 280 got 2in and they will be accepting around 100 kids.

I thought there were 150 clients, and my friend who knows one of the board members said 150 includes primary one kids. So the actual acceptance number for FY is 100.

10 classes of 15 each in FY so 150. Grade 1 intake is 30 since each class add 3 students.

Is it possible to not be called for a second interview but still be accepted into ISF? My friend's younger daughter presumably passed her first interview (since she has sibling priority but did not need to exercise the second-chance first interview option), but they never received a call from ISF for a second interview date. She heard that some families don't need to be called for it if they already have a child in the school and the school already knows the family well. (My friend serves on the Parent committee.) does anyone know if this is true?

Yes, the admission office confirmed this before. For siblings who got past the first round, there isn't really a need for the second round since the second round is an interview of the parents. Presumably, the parent would be pretty familiar with the school since they have at least one child there?

That's what my friend told me too. But think it's better to check with admission office. my friend called the admission office to confirm that the younger son is accepted.

Thanks, HKTHK and Kafool! Yes, my friend also got her husband to check with the office. They said something similar - like, no need for second interview as "we already know your family well" (!) But there was no confirmation of acceptance, so my friend wasn't really sure if that was a positive thing or not! (Also she is Western so has to rely on her husband's Chinese, which is also not the most reliable!)

😆. Sorry to say, but this is quite funny! (Ur friend's husband Chinese) but I am sure the admission office speaks English? Cos they have always only spoken to me in English, doesn't hurt if your friend can call again?

think your friend is okay, cos my friend said that if the siblings were not called in for a second assessment test, that should already means that he or she is being accepted!

My understanding now is during the 2nd round interview, only the parents will be interviewed, is it correct? However, my friend used to tell me the child were asked a few challenging questions when they attended the parent-child interview 2 years ago. If the child doesn't need to answer questions, what will she/he do when the parents are talking with the school staff?

Can this be true? Almost all the kids I know who atteded the first round got the invitations for the 2nd round. Only one didn't, and they received the rejection letter already.

I called admissions office to re-schedule the interview days ago. They told me the 2nd round will be arranged only on 2 days, Jan 23 and 26. Just wondering how many are there and what would be the acceptance rate...

In our 2nd round, the child was asked several questions though not sure whether that counts. The child will then be asked to play in the corner while the interviewer chats with the parents.

It would be nice if almost everyone are offered 2nd round interview but I doubt that's the case. From what I heard (unconfirmed but from reliable source), just debenture holders and siblings are enough to fill most of the class. There were many unhappy siblings parents as they all have to go for a 2nd round interview since they didn't make the 1st round.

I am pretty certain not all kids got 2nd interview. Cos a couple of different people told me that, and they are all quite close to the school. There were close to 2000 applicants last year and close to 2800 this year. The school told some of the parents with siblings applying that there was a massive chaos in the arrangement as they couldn't deal with the traffic. A lot of kids with siblings need to go back for 2nd time assessment because some of the teachers who helped screen the kids has never done it before and there were some errors in the process.

We should be really proud of the kids and happy going to the second interview. Cos the first round assessment this year is not easy and harder than before I heard ah!

The kids will be asked questions. And the VC would observe him or her when the parents are being assessed. By yes 80-90% of the kid's job is done.

You mean mine? It's a parent child interview. I'm not sibling nor debenture holder so I don't hv second round.
