一般港島區的直資和私小什麽時候開始申請和什麽時候知道offer?

I would like to know if the applications for the DSS/private primary schools (especially the schools in HK Island) normally begin around September and the offers mostly being announced by the end of December?

my understanding from the Education Bureau (EBD) website is that once we we accept any offers from the DSS/Private primary schools, we will not be eligible for the 統一派位？However, I sometime also overheard people say some DSS/Private primary schools “allow the 大抽獎”, what is this mean?

by the way, does anyone know whether most if not all of the DSS/Private primary schools should announce the offers before parents submitting the 統一派位 participation form, which happen around mid-January?

Most of them do but some of them does not. Like YW their final result announces in March. But in that case you can still apply the big lottery in Jan. Once you accepted YW in Mar (or any DSS school) the lottery place will be given up automatically.
