我也是啊！其实我也很喜欢这间学校的教学理念，而功课量不多，小班也是我很喜欢的。缺点。。。就是学校的环境真的比较细和旧点。
你喜欢这间学校什么呢？好像你除了基真，德雅都收了吧， 有没有留位呢？

係呀, 我有2私1直同1津OFFER, 聖三一已放棄, 德雅有交, 因為真係好LIKE, 依家又要唸嶺小同基真, 真係唔知點決擇好, 因為嶺小同基真好似, 唔同係嶺小英文應該好D, 不過學校細, 冇咩課外活動, 細佬有機會入唔返, 同埋朋友話D小朋友比較沒禮貌. 而基真校舍大, 課外活動多, 地點好, 細佬跟到入. 唉!!! 我真係15/16呀. 有冇人可以話我知, 嶺小D英文係唔係OK, 同埋佢得2班怕唔怕會CLOSE呢??

我本身都好鍾意德雅, 但因有細佬跟, 怕入唔返, 又怕女校男生, 所以遲遲決定唔到. 而且2個私校會好吃力. 嶺小平d, 同埋問過大多收番細佬妹, 而且當時未知自行收唔收. 所以去見了.....

學校細 - to many of us, this is actually an advantage. 25 students per class, 2 classes per form, high teacher to student ratio. If you read the newspaper articles related to this school when it was first set up, you will understand that it is their intention at the beginning to keep the size like this. I'm not sure if they are planning to increase the no. of classes or not, but definitely "small size" does not necessarily lead to "closing down". On the contrary, this is a hidden treasure highly regarded by a certain number of parents.
冇咩課外活動 - there are in fact a lot of ECs for students to choose. Because the total number of students is relatively small, students have better chance to participate in their target activities.
細佬有機會入唔返 - based on my observation, there are quite a few students and their siblings studying together at this school.
同埋朋友話D小朋友比較沒禮貌 - the students may be comparatively active (maybe because they are happy), but they are quite good kids. That's based on my observation at several school activities including the talent show and the school picnic.
嶺小D英文係唔係OK - as mentioned in my previous messages, their Eng standard is high. Parents need to make sure that the students have built a good foundation in order to meet the challenges, esp starting from P.3.

derrenderek, 可唔可講吓去到三年級會有幾深呢, 例如學緊咩 grammar, 咩生字咁呀?
雖然 open day 時, 老師有講呢本英文書去到高小會深過坊間, 但 open day 冇放 textbook, 所以都唔知點深法. 暫時我見亞女本英文, 大部份生字我女幼稚園都學過, 未見過大深的生字. 但係又試過要做 journal 用 past tense 喎, 但都只係一次. 所以我仲未感受到佢英文係好深.

有幾深 - this is a relative term. In P.3, basically students need to use the past tense to write journal and some paragraphs using the sentence structures taught in their textbooks and worksheets. They also require the students to be able to speak proper Eng and tell the story. Vocabulary from the textbook, as told by other parents, should be a bit more difficult since the book is issued by a singaporean publisher. Of course, I believe at most it is just the same as that of other Eng school or good private/DSS schools; it is in fact not really too advanced. However, if in comparison with other chinese traditional schools, their requirement can be considered challenging.
Probably in P.4 - 6, their requirements are more demanding. It is better to have inputs from other parents on this.

There are a lot of comments made by our parents.
The one that has been closed down or will be closed down is located on HK Island. Lingnan DSS Primary School is in Shek Kip Mei. I don't think it has any linkage with any kindergarten.

嶺南小學是司徒拔道那間, 將會暫停重建, 呢間就嶺幼好似優先的, 不過預計未來三年都冇小一, 而我地講緊的係石峽尾的嶺南同學會.
