這兩國都唔係讀香港的課程，請問選邊間比較好？

CKY is IGCSE and then IB DP
ISF is IB MYP and then IB DP
Student make-up also different. CKY is mostly ethnic Chinese and ISF has some Western and mainland Chinese families.
I think you have to ask yourself what is important to you and your child

If the factor of living location has been neglected, CKY is better than ISF. I have heard lots of reasons why the parents choose ISF for their children is due to their children cannot be admitted by other IS, such as ESFs. I believe there are not many parents would choose ISF as their first priority. It seems that it is not fair to make this comment for those students who are now studying at ISF. I just like to express who I have learnt.

This is funny, a friend of mine did the exact opposite. They wanted to send their child to ISF so that they can learn mandarin but didn't get in. Wind up going to ESF instead.

I do agree that CKY is more selective as there are more applicants given its recognition by local families and lower costs. It is not really relevant to compare ISF and CKY with ESF though. Totally different system. The relevant comparison should be between ISF, CKY, VSA, SIS, CIS, KCIS

HKTHK, Agree with you.
I think... if look at those schools in details, they can be compared by different curriculum and their performance in the average score on IB or IGCSE...
ISF, CIS, VSA : IB
CKY, SIS : IGCSE
KCIS: ?

I am looking to do a comparison of the two schools as well since my younger child will have to apply in the next few years. I have not attended the information session of CKY and am not in a position to comment. But if you have questions on ISF, I will try to help if I can.

I am sure ISF faces similar issues as well. There are bound to be spoiled and misbehaving children everywhere. Probably best addressed through family teachings? As for turnover of English teachers, ISF faced similar issue before though things have settled down. I think this is natural though since many of these teachers are young and want to rotate to see the world. I have just started to track ISF turnover though probably won't have meaningful results for another couple years.

I like both CKY n ISF! CKY is much cheaper than ISF as I have 4 kids! ISF bilingual system is very strong enough! The students are more smart and confident! It's very impressive when I visited to school tour. Chinese Culture is one of the most important to teaching children! It's never seen in other schools.
Compare with location, I think CKY is better. CKY is much more bigger than ISF. ISF will postpone to build swimming pool.
however my kid failed to CKY. However, she got 2nd interview from ISF!

any idea if ISF accepts students mostly from international kindergartens? I'm thinking if they emphasize in Chinese Culture, can students from local kindergartens adapt easily?

I don't know the statistics, but there are children from both local and int'l. I don't think it really matters as long as the child know Mandarin and English.

May I know when did you receive the noticfication of 2nd round interview from isf? We had FY interview last tuesday and ofcuz still haven't hear anything from school yet. I still thought I have to wait until dec.

Just receive such information by staff in last interview. Not such when will it complete.

Oh I didn't received any news too! As what my son told me the assessment was q comprehensive. But he said he answered in Cantonese and for some questions he couldn't answer. He even said he was required to write both Chinese and English names everytime he entered a new classroom. Anyway I'm proud of the kids. Not easy at all...

They haven't announce the 2nd interview date. They said they will try to complete it by 31/1/2013.

The interview also engaged 1 hour, including PTH and English. My kid also need to write down her name.
