Dear all,

Agency has suggested the following school for my son to study at Yr 9, may I know which school is better?

1.  Stover School - Dovon
2.  Campbell College - Northern Ireland
3.  Fulneck School - Yorkshire West
4.  Farringtons School - Kent
5.  Woodhouse Grove School - Yorkshire West

你個 agent 有無俾個 list 你參考, 佢應該列晒學費, 註冊/留位費, A-Level / GCSE 合格率, 全英排名等.
不過第二選擇去到北愛爾蘭似乎遠左D..而且北愛好似唔係咁安全喎..

很難決擇, 我兒成績都不好, agent 話呢D學校收既機會大D, 唉, 十五十六! 又吾熟識D學校!

唔好氣餒，我們也不是專家，要花點時間，去學校的網頁看看，有inspection report 可參考的。又或者電郵給學校，一般佢地也很樂意解答啊!

你個 agent 有無俾個 ranking你參考? 如果無, 你可以參考以下個 list

Boarding School List

1. Stover & 2. Woodhouse 都係OK嘅, 不過最好都係上去學校網頁續個睇, 睇下環境設施係點, 課餘有咩活動, Exeat Holiday 會有咩安排, 睇下適唔適合你個小朋再決定. 不過好少少的學校收Yr. 9 收生方面會要求高D, 可能要你考入學試. 希望可以幫到你. 我個仔都係剛剛收左佢讀 Yr. 7, 我都係上黎衣度有好多有經驗 Mummy/Daddy 俾左好多有用資料我參考.

個 boarding school list 係 agent 俾我嘅, 尾二果張有佢D資料..

which agency did you use? how are your son's grades and how is his personality. I think it is important to match the school with your son so he will be happy even though he is far from home.

你可以向这些学校拿brochures看看他们的资料。
其实，大部分的私立学校都很好，很多在香港读得不好的学生，来了这里都不赖，因为这里的老师encouraging,不要求学生怎么都会，全能！这里可以选择科目，区别很大的！
不只是看ranking, 其实也要看$$, 地区。
1.  Stover School - Dovon: in wales, transport back to middle will longer time.
2.  Campbell College - Northern Ireland: 我不会选择. 因为Belfast 太危险。这几天都有示威。但是这个学校便宜！
3.  Fulneck School - Yorkshire West

4.  Farringtons School - Kent: Best location, closest to London, but 95% girls.
5.  Woodhouse Grove School - Yorkshire West

Thanks for your advice!

1.  Stover - accept my son based on his school report (no entrance exam taken yet), I feel this school a bit "commercial", but it shows that 100% pass rate for GCSE & AL, seems better than the other schools.

2.  Campbell College - accepted my son but he needs to repeat for Yr 9.  The only advantage for this school is low cost.

5.  Woodhouse Grove School - entrance exam taken but still waiting result. Progress a bit slow.

I still struggling whether it is good for him to send him abroad, I wonder he will be out of control if far away from parents & not concentrate on study...........

Stover is in South Wales, where away from ENGLAND! I recently aware of the schools in South Wales because their standard is quite high!
Campbell is cheap at school fee, moreover, I think you can stay in school for mid-term breaks which will save you a lot of money!
