首先好多謝利主席用左1個中教我地phonics, 我仲以為自己報左英文堂
其實聽完後有D保留, 佢好強調英文, 咁岩, 但中文呢, 剩係話普教中, 大家唔好忽略中文, 要學得好係比英文難, 俾你英文攞A又點, 中文渣, 又點入U, 同埋我好唔同意你發音準, 將來就有人請, 我敢肯定10個中國人有10個D英文發音都唔準 (利主席呢類expert就例外拉), 咁老細唔使請人拉,

其實我每次去聽briefing一定會探訪下toilet, 點解會有mou 廁, 小朋友點用, 成個坐左落地點算, 又或者'fei'到2腳都係

吓! 竟然有Mou 廁？？我從未聽過香港嘅學校會用Mou 廁囉!!

有2格MOU 廁, 3格坐廁, 俾3千幾蚊學費, 搞好D個廁所得唔得, 唔好用晒D資源請老師, 衛生係好緊要架, 我自小已很討厭MOU 廁, 亦唔識點同佢去law...

介紹邊隻字典好用最攪笑！又要d學生睇多d字典，強調學嘢有邊樣唔悶？
教咗成個鐘phonics，感覺到發音唔準好似係死罪。

校長教大家交通路線圖連收費資料就全場忍唔住爆笑！
其實成三個鐘咁長，可以將學校present 得更好更全面。

我知道這是一間英文小學, 英文程度一定冇得頂. 所以我反而會留意他們中文方面的教學模式及程度. 我特意找到了中文課室, 台上放了些小五工作紙(學生剛開學做的), 題目大約是改寫中國寓言故事及繒圖. 我見學生都可以2-3板A4 紙文字的回覆. 我詢問過本人母親(名校退休中文科教師. 現也有幫小學生補中文), 她意見是模式都是正常的, 其他小學也會用這種作文方式. 與在場的中文科教師了解. 他們是用"現代"語文課本, 用普通話授課. 每周也有普通話日鼓勵學生講普通話. 所以, 我覺得此校也是中英並重.

至於利主席的演講, 是有點悶, 但我只當是免費上了一堂phonics (也有得益呀). 始終學校實際的教學情況比較重要些.

Mou 廁方面, 只是其中一兩隔有. 好彩仔仔都有用過. 因為好多時郊外(例如單車公園等)都只有mou 廁的.

如果政府公共設施洗手間用踎廁都感到正常，80年代讀津貼小學的我，都没有踎廁! 反而現今下一代的直資學校會設備踎廁，有些還是新裝修時增設，可能較為方便使用?! 唔知佢地自己屋企新裝修時會否投票整踎廁! Thats a good idea!!!

mou 廁男仔還可以, 但女仔就麻煩law, 我細個用過, 真係會'fei'濕2條腿架, 何況小一生, 當然可以話, 我係黎讀書, 唔係全日係廁所過, 應該將重點擺係資源上, 但我真係覺得衛生好緊要.

thanks everyone. so sounds like the "open day" was mostly talk of irrelevant topics so I didn't miss anything?

other than the phonics lecture, anything about the mode of teaching, their through-train concept (and delivery), ECA, etc etc?

Mou 廁pat pat 唔駛間接接觸，可能乾淨D。同埋男仔多人小便時，可multi-tasking.

Mode of teaching - 小班活動教學, Beside Chinese and Life Education all others teach in English. Ofcourse foreign language being taught by foreign teachers.

Through-train - I asked the Principal in person, she said basically all P6 students will be promtoed to S1. For those behind standard will repeat but will not ask you to leave school.

ECA - 12 ECA tasted in P1 and P2 within school hours, no additional charge.Then selected 1 in P3.

my daughter told me that some of her classmates in SMC likes using "mou toilet" only. Even my mother think "Mou toilet" is better because less virus or bacterias would pass to us.
However, my daughter only likes using the normal toilet. She said she never uses the "Mou toilet" so far.

So, I think the school just provides more choices to the users.

My daughter has LE in English this year.

我個女仲話好多同學會排隊去踎廁添。其實如果唔係大大，大部分女性都唔敢坐落街上的座廁，因為極唔衛生，所以有座廁都會坐無影櫈。屋企有兩個廁所，每個只得兩個人用,緊係放心坐下來啦！
呢樣野或者男士好難明白！

的確有家長是prefer踎廁的。我地就係。因為衛生問題。同prefer自動水喉一樣。no contact. 最好唔好話你唔prefer就consider一定係差，或就立即笑人地。每件事都有多方面既perspectives既。

我一入到去, 就見到有個姐姐清潔緊, 拖緊地. 其實個廁所是乾淨衛生的, 也沒有異味. 但裝修就談不上美輪美奐. 去過咁多間小學, 個人認為啟x個最靚, 畫滿哂小朋友塗鴉作品

學校正準備擴建校舍，請凖用家多比意見，可以更完善設計，得益都是小朋友們。
將來中學部更有質數保證。可以100%由小學部升上。

又真係唔明，如果有人可以向學校反應呀就好啦! Speaking English with a correct pronounciation or enunciation is really important , but using over an hour to explain this point to parents was a bit unnecessary. I remember that too, During new students & parents orientation , the variety show was done so well , the presentation from Mr Dennehy and the rest of the head teachers were informative and presented so well , they should have him present the curriuculum instead of the long boring phonic lesson at open day honestly !!!

And the transportation part is already shown on the school website , needless to present on open day again . new eager parents want to know more about the students or see & hear the students. They wanna know the school life and to gain more confident that smc is a competitive school .

People are saying key criterion choosing a school is its principal, and from the above feedback I didn't hear the passion from the school's management...

我Like mou toilet 喎，坐廁好吾衛生。如果小朋友even 大人，高度吾夠，腳吾夠長的話。坐無形櫈時會有機會大脾＂high "到廁板。學校比多個choice 學生其實都係好事，mou or 吾mou，各人喜歡！

To be honest, from my whole process of primary school application, I can never found out solid information about the school from their talk. Not even for those top tier schools. For some of the schools, I attended their talk just because they accepted application form on the same day, so I dont have to take leave again just to hand in the form. I gather more useful school information from BK, kindergarten's teachers, comment from other parents in my son's interest class, his piano teacher etc.........
