想問有冇家長個小朋友既心願係做飛機司 ? 係香港邊度有得讀? 我睇過CATHAY 有飛機司陪訓課程, 但係要CATHAY 肯請先得, DSE 出黎定要大學畢業先請? 我知道呢個夢想有點高, 但好想幫佢, 唔想真係成為只係夢想, 空談...有冇家長可分享下 ?

Program Description
The degree of Bachelor of Aviation is offered by the Faculty of Science with input from the Faculty of Engineering.
The aim of this program is to prepare students for a career in the aviation industry. Program 3980 is a Flying stream which gives students the opportunity for flight training. A Management stream is also offered which prepares students more specifically for careers in the managerial sector of the aviation industry - for this Management stream, please refer to program 3981 in this Online Handbook.
Both streams consists of core courses selected from the Faculties offering the program, together with a range of options. The Flying stream additionally includes flight training to a minimum level of Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL) with additional flight training options available dependent upon student progress and requirements.
Note: Due to the block training nature of the flight training program, teaching periods might not correspond to standard academic sessions.

謝謝你的資料, 好有用, 我會和仔仔一齊睇, 唔介意問下你兒子係米都係有志成為飛機司嗎 ? 仔仔係參加童軍時考了航空章後產生興趣的, 佢而家已考埋 SENIOR AIRMAN, 正等緊MASTER AIRMAN 有課程就報...教佢個導師都係讀完3 LEVEL AIRMAN , 畢業後再去投考入CATHAY再受陪訓的, 而家已經係初級機司...我知呢條路唔容易, 但希望做父母能盡力幫佢達到人生既目標 !

我女儿也是在這大學讀緊不過也不是讀這科。只不過她在Sydney 讀中學時有幾個要好的男同學想做pilot的現在都在讀這科。聽他們說好似都幾難讀，passing rate 不是很高

suggest to complete the 1st degree in 飞机工程, or other degrees related to airline business , and then apply for the pilot jobs. The airlines will provide you full training. No need to waste money for taking expensive private training courses. My two nephews took the same route to become pilots in CX airline.

我朋友在new zealand讀完aviation management, 考左小型飛機牌、有操fit體能，有潛水牌(表面上好動體能好夠冒險精神）有得in CX，不過無請，第一輪written test已經out左。我自己覺得係英國文吾夠好。語言能力好緊要

我參觀國泰城時，見有機師帶眼鏡，問帶隊空姐，她說因很少人無近視，所以有近視也會請。那帶眼鏡的機師似乎無做lasik，否則不用帶眼鏡(不是黑超)

都未必完全系語文能力，完成了一個degree語文能力應該up to standard.i think for a pilot, they put more weight on "personal qualities" rather than "academic excellence"
in other words, they are looking for "charater" , 沉著，冷靜，勇氣，智慧 ...........

去澳洲讀好似銀兩要幾多 ,做機師數理科要OK, 特別是物理,數學等一定唔可以太差 , 有親朋因成績唔掂而退學...
有啲人第一個學位讀其他科先, 有一個學位打底再去諗.
國泰請當然完美，但難爭呀，難過入大學唔少...

哎, 我識唔少人讀degree, 英文嚇死人的, 我親手"湊"大我幾個朋友讀degree讀master, 我點會唔知(佢地d功課真係自己做的, 不過我改grammar就係了), 我有時講笑話, 我已經讀左4個bachelor degree一個master degree了
最近公司收左一個uni of toronto返黎有master degree, 有晒cfa之類既applicant, 封信上寫"i have some talents which i cannot display to you now", "i am an open-minded, responsible and cheerful. (個person字去左邊??), 我負責做screening既同事即時打左個大交叉, 講真, 唔好話analyst, 呢d咁既英文, 做秘書都嫌失禮
講返cx, 點解我會話我朋友英文唔得, 因為佢連face to face interview都未去, 只係written test+body check果關已經被out, 我朋友好有信心架, 覺得係因為做完lasik未夠耐所以fail (亦係咁所以我知要做lasik, 可能淺就唔駛, 深就要啦), 我心裡有數知道係英文水平lor

常理是英文水平是极其重要的, 试想民航机师要周位飞, 跟各地各国的控制台打交道, 要应对各种口音,甚至于乌sir sir英文, 搅不清楚指示,随时随地机毀人亡的. 唔似做空姐, 听唔明就傻笑都可以过骨.
在外国的当pilot short cut 是入军部, 考入 air force, 学历要求较低, 退役后,airlines 争主请. 飞行经验靓到爆满.

睇番你兒子個case,真的好似我大niece一樣,不同的只是她是在英國那邊生活,童軍也是在那邊上,聽他們説在那邊上童軍有很多嘢學,有點像真正的軍人咁,niece就入air force,聽哥哥說是有真飛機揸的,而且她已考了一個飛機牌,但我沒有問是什麼飛機,相信亦是很喜歡揸飛機的原因所以想做機師,大niece今年19歲,正在英國Kingston University讀緊year 2既degree, 她已上完童軍,但聽家人講阿嫂每星期都會車她去一處地方度練揸飛機,這是她學校的website, 看看有沒有用,哥哥話在這間學校讀這科是幾好架,他們應該已經打探過來.

friendly reminder : 我有個朋友做飛機師, 佢之前同我講過, 做飛機師最慘是要個牌要成日考試(即係佢唔同醫生, 考完一次亦一生係醫生, 佢好似救生員咁, 咁上下就要再考過, 合格後才可再做), 以前係咁, 而家要唔知係咪仲係咁. 要做就check 吓.

做過激光矯視後，不適合駕駛飛機，航空公司也不會聘用；反而近視戴眼鏡沒有問題。

Learned from news that there is aviation maintenance centre in the planning stage between HK Poly and Boeing.
Probably it's a good start to approach the path.

提提你。兩位醫生朋友不約而同曾向我提及飛機師的job hazard.就是每飛一程的輻射，已大大多過你照X-ray，平均年齡較短，以及男性精子數量較其他人大幅下降，影響生植能力。以上三點都是研究結果。我自己現實中也見美滿家庭的飛機師。

我同事個仔在港龍做緊機師, 佢本身移居咗加國, 在加國讀大學, 都在小型內陸機公司做緊的, 返香港考港龍, 第一年考去到 4th interview (or 5th? 我唔記得喇), 第二年再考先考到.
我同事講英文要求極高, 其中一份 test (唔記得係 listening paper 定係 oval), 係要聽好多不同國籍不同口音的人講野, 有啲口音真係一般人都未必聽得明的.

我朋友已經飛左幾十個鐘考左小型飛機師牌, 又上左好幾個IN PILOT既WORKSHOP (由現任PILOT教), 又睇完AIRLINE D文件講明要起碼等幾耐至可以申請, 問埋AIRLINE HR, 我估佢會清楚過我, ANYWAY, 祝佢好運啦

早前 esf alumni magazine 有介紹兩個舊生，現在分別是 cathay 和 dragonair 的 cadet pilot，一個讀 science，一個讀 business
