今年題目好像有點難。原本不太期望。怎知道小兒在middle primary year 3中拿到credit。他考時才是K3學期尾。希望

各家長也滿意小朋友的成績啦。

Thank you. Yes he was 5 years and 8 months old when he took the test.

你小朋友讀幾年班?其實是奥數這類题目。如果小朋友試過奥數，可以試吓玩。P

How do you train him? It is not just a matter of math ability. If he can take Mid-Prim AMC at 5yr 8m, then he must also be a language genius to understand the problems. Did he take the English or Chinese version?

Hi, he took the English version. Training? He took a few months Olympian Math (Chinese class) when he was in K3. For AMC, he just did the past papers and I seldom explained to him no matter right or wrong. Why? I let him do it; if he is capable, I will let him try. If he is incapable, I will stop pushing him and set back to one level lower.

To understand the Math's English is not that difficult. No need to be a genius. Frankly, he finished CTY (John Hopkins U) accelerated level 4 this May. Maybe he used to read those Math's type English questions.

What a smart kid!
Could you please advise how can attend the CTY in HK? My nephew is also a gifted child in Maths.

First of all, there is no CTY centre in HK at all. All courses are conducted on-line.
The admission requirement depends on the grade. If grade 2 to grade 6, you need to take SCAT. Please refer to the following link.

If the kid is studying below grade 2 (that's my case), you don't need to take SCAT right now. You can apply do a free-online test first to determine the level. Then you need to send them a IQ score before formal admission. It's a "buy-time" based. I bought three-month time for my son. It costs about HK$5900. If you can finish a course, pass an exam with good grade, they allow you to continue the other course WITHOUT paying extra $. I asked EPGY directly, they don't allow such flexibility. Nevertheless, since it's a on-line based course, there is NO NOTES at all. All materials are on-line and CAN'T DOWNLOAD. Of course you can repeat as many times as you like. On the other hand, you can accelerate the progress if you are capable.
