My two kids are now studying P.4 and P.5. The school uses story books to teach English in junior forms. For senior forms, teachers prepare articles to teach, like my son is now learning how to write formal letters and for the NET lessons, he is now learning how to make up supporting points for debating. They don't need to use textbooks but the school teachers tailor-made material for them. I can say the standard is above average.

I think the school wants to develop students' independence in both learning and personal growth. You may not find lots of support like posting homework on the Internet, regular feedback from teachers, however, students should have self discipline in handling their own stuff or they may not be able to master their school things properly. For religious development, they have prays every morning and they have bible studies every week. For putonghua, they use PTH as a medium of instruction in Chinese lessons and for English, they need to learn articles with different text types, like poems, stories, letters etc. However, to be honest, they use Cantonese in other subjects so you can't compare their English standrad with students from EMI school

I also want to find out the answer … tho i hv studied pcps myself in the olden days but not sure if there has been significant development over eng teaching over the yrs…

For myself…i hvcompleted pcps and changed to an english catholic gal skool upon secondary education… my only comment is pc cannot develop native speaking as compared to the famous eng speaking skool- but that was pretty much an okd history like 15-20 yrs ago - i'd really like to know the current eng level in pcps and pcss too…

May I know the language of textbook of subjects like maths? In Chinese or English?
