My wife and I are new to HK, really appreciate experienced parents to share their feedback. We are considering either 1yr playgroup for Victoria (Upper Kornhill), Woodland Mid-Levels Montessori and Yew Chung IS playgroup. Our kid is about 4mth old and he is on waiting list of all 3 schools.

My son is now attending playgroup in Victoria (upper kornhill). 1-2 yrs group . My son likes the environment and teachers there very much. And the fee is reasonable too. However, there is always long queue and need to wait for around 14months before you get an offer .

My son attended kornhill pg and I really liked it. The content includes free play time, circle time, circle time, singing songs and doing artwork. Some may say there are too much free time but I think giving the kids the freedom to explore what to play is also part of the learning process.

i got a place for my almost 2 yr old 2 weeks after i submitted the forms. but they just offered me the pm playgroup. so i gave up the place.

My son is on Victoria playgroup and another montessori playgroup. They are quite different in terms of teaching theory. Montessori stressed self initiation, while Victoria playgroup is conducted in Cantonese plus English. But if you want to continue study in same school for nursery/kindergarten, Victoria doesn't have preference to their own playgroup students. You may check for other schools.

Is interview required for playgroup? Will they call us when space is available? Thanks.

Interview not required but u can call and find out how long is the queue.
