Primary: Kowloon Junior School, Beacon Hills, Sha Tin Junior School, Kennedy School
Secondary: King George V School, Sha Tin College, West Island

Which primary and secondary has a better reputation? Pls share your experience and view? Thx...

I know there is a a catchment policy, but we have a plan to move, so assume catchment is not a concern....

學校的確間間都有 d 唔同，不過我就覺得唔會話有邊間特別差到要避開唔讀
其實小學升中學派學位，因為某 d 學校唔夠位，都可能要跨區讀，我有朋友個仔要由九龍過港島讀，唔好以為搬了就咁老定

I will choose Island School. Seems that Shatin College has more HK students and the English language environment may not be as strong as that in Island School. Can anyone share?

Not agree, all ESF students communicate in English all the time, no matter they are Chinese or not. Shatin College's results are better than Island School. Students accepted by ESF schools are proficient in English, culturally they are developed very differently as compared to those HK students in local schools, I feel that they are more like British kids.

No doubt Island School has more western students than SJS/SC. However, I second what WYmom has said above. Like it or not Chinese kids speak English all the time in the school. It seems to me that it is the environment that makes them speak English naturally. Just like other native speakers do.
But having said that, I think language should not be the only factor for consideration. Try going to different ESF schools and have a feel of them and see which one you like and feel most comfortable with. ESF schools are not the top among international schools in Hong Kong, but I think ESF schools do maintain a reasonable standard every year.

其實如果心水清，就會發現通常 esf  的狀元，十個有九個都係香港人。
香港學生和家長，較注重成績，因此其實學校多香港人，一般都學術氣氛濃 D。
西方孩子大部份都 take school easy，咁我又覺得佢地呢個讀書態度，又唔係錯得晒。
香港的學生，因為學費問題，近幾年都將目標由英國美國，轉番留香港讀。
西方孩子就掉轉，大部份都會返老家讀大學，除非係要讀當地一線名牌大學 (ivy，oxbridge) ，如果要求唔高，普普通通一間唔難入，何必要搏到盡，不如留番 d 時間打下波好過。先前都有一個 topic 討論過， ib 有 32 - 33 分，都夠入英國某 d  大學讀 law。
英文環境係唔係 strong，就要睇你點諗。esf  明明就係 english school，返學上堂全英文，就係咁啦。
另外我又咁諗，香港人點解咁中意排斥自己人？
明明自己個小朋友都係香港人，點解會介意學校多唔多其他香港人呢？
如果人地刻意收少 d 香港人，咁可能連你個小朋友都唔會有機會喎。
其實我覺得要信學校的入學機制，學校收得，就等於學生英文冇問題。
當然，講到尾，最緊要係家長自己的選擇啦，真係覺得某學校唔好，就唔好讀囉。

There is a simple reason for that, many foreign children are just in Hongkong for a few years and will leave mid-way so those who stay right until the end tends to be Hongkongers anyway.

Nintendo,Is your kid studying st Shatin College? You seem to have over-reacted.
I like all the ESF schools. It's just that if I had to choose, I would choose Island School. Thanks for your sharing.

Thank you for your clarification. I have mixed up Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun. But zoning aside, the fees are about doubled. They must be quite rich :)
