標題: 給2013-14想入德望小學的朋友一些資訊 [打印本頁]

我女兒係今年德望小學既小一學生，自己上年都經歷過考小學。有些學校既資訊唔多，所以出現了很多"消息"，而自己都希望將一D學校既客觀資料講比大家聽，對大家考小一時多一個參考。
我的女兒也只番了幾日學，有些資料可能未能齊全，請見諒！
1. 今年開始，改為全年3次考試。

2. 老師亦會在教授某些課後安排小測，會公佈範圍，成績不會計入考試分內
3. 數學有中及英，但英數只是輔助性質(唔知高年班係咪？)
4. 常識是用英文課本
5. 每星期有中、英文默書
6. 上學時間為0730-1500(留意上學時間係7:30am

，如果你住得遠就要考慮清楚！)
7. 有廿幾條校巴線，差不多遍佈全九龍，新界遠至大埔
8. 有兩個主科唔合格，可能要留班

9. 成績表唔會有名次(減少比較...)
10. 自設廚房

，$22/餐，不設送飯
11. 45人/班(如果鍾意小班教學可能就唔係佢杯茶)
12. 英文書一開始教1B
13. 成績及格及操行良好可直升中學

小一面試時，只是問了小女一些簡單問題，不過有英文對答。所以我唔覺得德望係揀一D精英中既精英，而且我都唔相信所謂"勸退"。如果係既話，小一面試時已經出D高難度問題，揀出一D精英中既精英。(小女唔係讀德幼，亦係冇獎狀、冇興趣班、冇宗教、冇特異功能、亦都唔係舊生...)
而且，校長响小一迎生日時，向全體小一家長強調唔好要小朋友放學後去上一D補習班，比小朋友有充足休息。大家可以話講一套做一套，但係我覺得校長有呢個心。順便POST下一D校長FACEBOOK內既說話，等大家多些瞭解...

I just have time to meet with the students and staff of Primary and secondary sections. I will go to KG tomorrow.
This morning when I told the assembly of the secondary section that the School will not teach National Education as a subject, the whole school hall resounded with applause. I am proud of my girls that even though they are not always vocal, they follow what is happening in the society and do have a sense of right judgement.

We have a good new P1 Orientation Day. As in the past, several students did not turn up and the school has to call them. Some had forgotten, some had changed to other schools. I hope parents can be more responsible and act as role models for their children.
Everyone is free to join and not join Good Hope, but think of the other candidates on the waiting list. By holding up places up to the last minute, they are depriving others from coming to school on time for the parents meeting. I appeal to all to be considerate and think not only of themselves.

My joy on the first day of school was dampened when a student did not turn up and we have to call the parents. The mother said, "the girl is now at another school and we would like to see which school will fit her more... And you give me a few days to think about it?" I instantly told her that this is really selfishness. Can you imagine what will become of the girl? I told her that if the girl does not turn up tomorrow, she will lose her place. Sigh... What kind of a parent !

It just came to my notice that someone is asking in "Education Kingdom" if a child need to attend a lot of interest classes in order to get into Good Hope Primary 1. I really want to tell the person that those are not important at all. Can someone be kind enough to answer that person for me?

以上這些都是給大家一些參考，得到多些資訊。當然，小女亦只是上學數天，實在不足以代表學校或其他家長。敬請大家見諒！

係呀，上學時間都係一個考慮因素，好彩雖然我住得唔近，不過上校車時間都ok。我覺得任何一間學校都有不同利弊，最緊要揀間適合自己!

Thanks for very good comment! Agree x 10, Good Hope is a very very good school.
Honestly, you don't need any tutor outside if you really follow teacher's instruction.

Thank you very much for the sharing. It is really helpful for us to understand the "truth" of the school. I believe that it is a very good school, however, less primary placement will be provided for outsiders in year 2013 as all K3 students of Good Hope Kindergarten can directly go to Good Hope Primary School. Is it true?

以上年為例，聽講都有至少50-60個外來生(我個囡咪其中一個)。其實都唔少，當然年年未必一樣。我認為幼稚園學生未必一定全部揀番上小學，可能有D人搵到更岩心水既小學，有D人唔想負擔私校學費而揀官津校... 以我自己為例：其實德望第一輪收生時，我係冇報

...到了大抽獎放榜時，才膽粗粗寄封求位信去。當時有諗過就算有位都留比第一輪既waiting list，不過一試無妨... 結果當然係喜出望外

。所以就算機會小都要一試，祝好運！

我個囡讀九龍塘某私家幼稚園，不過絕對唔係出名，以當年計係報親都收既幼稚園...

You mean lots of change in GH? Change of headmistress? Change of interview format?
For me, It's all new. So, nothing change at all...
Wish you also find the most suitable school!

Yes, it is really expensive. Much more expensive than GH.
The changes include new headmistress, interview format, school admin, exam frequency, etc...
Sounds like that the headmistress wants to do some refreshment of the school.

上個月GH攪左個講座比全校家長，請來一位資深教育學者Dr Francis，講解番學校既改革係經過研究而作出的...

可以的話，請講確實d地點才可覆你，或可以pm,因為同一個區都可能有好多站…
我小朋友K3番下晝班，轉小學前都有擔心早起既問題，開學前都有逐步調較起身時間等佢習慣。但係小朋友適應力真係好強，而家9:30瞓，6:20起身都完全冇問題，幫佢較鬧鐘自己起身，有時都試過賴床，so far都ok!而且，除非間學校响屋企附近，就算其他學校番晏少少，要搭校車的話都唔會遲好多!不過，如果呢個係你既main concern,就真係諗清楚!

Just wondering what class is your girl in? Mine is in 1A and it's true. I do like the school. Everything is predicatable and not like some other school. 教一套而考另一套. My girl is super small BB and grad from a popular kindergarten. We didn't get an offer until 13/7 this past summer. I do really appreciate Sister Pauline who has put so much time, heart and effort toward the school and the girls.

每班一個班主任，Eng Oral 會分兩組...
夠唔夠全面？我相信應該點都唔夠小班教學掛...
但係正如我之前講過，每間學校都有D優點缺點，自己要衡量下...
呀女幼稚園時好鍾意攬住老師，所以上小學時都幾唔慣，而家咪等佢唔好咁依賴老師，番左就嚟兩個月都習慣左。
另外，GH有個大姐姐計劃，即係等高年級既學生帶下D一年級學生，等佢地快D適應...
