Would anyone know what is the equivalent grade of IGCSE English for IELTS (Academic Module) 7.5 marks?

What is the difference between the academic module and general module of IELTS? It seems that most org including HK govt only recognize academic module.

Would any UK boarding school accept IELTS grade as a substitute for IGCSE O Level English for Grade 12 entry?

Academic ielts is normally for educational usage only, for example applying uni, also can use for applying immigration related issue like PR

For general ielts, mainly is for immigration related issue only

I just wonder if 7.5 marks of IELTS can be used as a substitute grade for IGCSE Grade C in English subject in case my son cannot obtain Grade C in IGCSE English.

My son's classmate said that it is more easier to obtain high mark in general IELTS than academic IELTS.

It appears that the average mark for HK students is around 6.69 marks.
