I believe:
1.  認為有助子女多認識袓國國情
2.  可以促進兩地共融

Both parents and school have the responsibility to let children know more of China, like 4 June, 文化大革命 & etc.

It is normal to learn a country's history & strong points.  For example, people want to be U.S. citizen, they have to pass the written exam of U.S. history.

For parents, they should teach their own children, not to depends mostly on schools and society.

獨裁及封閉的地方才會有國民教育.
