Should have better overall results in HK.

Looking forward to see LPC's results, after no more HKCEE screening stage.

As a new school, I'm glad to share CSS has good news in IB exam result.
1 student has scored full mark, while 5 got >40 marks.

Please refer to http://www.css.edu.hk/

I am pleased to share VSA's results too:

http://www.vsa.edu.hk/en/announc ... ments.php&id=41

This is our second cohort.  Some students studied all the way from kindergarten.

I found CDNIS's results:

http://www.cdnis.edu.hk/news-events/highlight/655.html

For "new" schools like CSS and VSA, students' performance varies, whereas the average score for CDNIS is higher (this would be the 2nd cohort after CDNIS adopts IBDP).  CIS' average score for 2011 was 37.  So, still lots of room for improvement for CSS and VSA students.

Thanks for the sharing.

It is indeed a good result by all standard to a new school.

To make it clear, this is VSA's 2nd cohort of students who studied all the way from kindergarten.  Our first and second cohorts of IBDP students joined VSA for IBDP only.

Thanks for sharing. ESF's result is amazing and better than many overseas IB schools.
作者: cchristieee    時間: 12-7-9 18:45

LPC is doing fine, statistics seem similar to previous years. Around half of the local students this year had taken HKCEE.

Any one knows CIS results?

My son told me that LPC more or less the same as 2011.

Better than my expectation.I
My son's comment is as expected, the second batch even better.

Internally their PG 35 around 75%, eventually, the actual results below this may due to some boys skipped year two and joined US universities after receiving firm offers based on SAT results.

Yes, Sevenoaks is regarded as the No.1 IB school in U.K. although it customarily does not partipicate in any school ranking.

Love to see that a local IB school would become a No.1 IB school in Hong Kong.

Sevenoaks is not doing as well as last year.

In 2011, 16 students gained the maximum 45 points, 23 gained 44 points and 125 gained 40 or more points.
Average IB score was 39.9

in 2012,  7 students achieved the maximum 45 points, with another 17 securing 44 points.
107 students gained diplomas with 40 or more points.  The average score was 39.1 points

In fact, Sevenoaks is pipped by CLC.

CLC's average score was 40.5 points.  Nearly 70% of girls achieved 40 points or over and at least one Level 7 at Higher Level.

Both are excellent schools and it's difficult to judge which one is a better IB school because class size is different etc.

Thanks for your sharing. I have a friend's D studying at 7oaks this year. Her IB result is 39, the average score of the whole school. She complies with the conditions of the offer by the UK law school (which asks for IB score of 39).

I have clicked the link you posted and understand that the class size of CLC is 30 for IB. However the class size of 7oaks is around 200, about 7 times of CLC. That accounts for a bit lower overall average.

Nice to know that your friend's daughter is able to meet the offer and do the subject she likes.  It is great to be able to study in a school with an high average score because it reflects the school's general standard.  But at the end of the day, it's your kid's individual score that counts. I guess being the minority who does really well in a less well known school is still far better than being the minority who does badly in Sevenoaks or CLC.

That's why I said "it's difficult to judge which one is a better IB school because class size is different etc."  I believe the majority of CLC students are still doing A Levels.  Anyway, 25% of Sevenoaks students received offers from Oxbridge and CLC's percentage is 28%.  So if going to Oxbridge is your kid's target, then either school won't make much of a difference.

Your comment is very true. I had a friend's D whose HKCEE result was only 14. She went to a less known boarding school in the northern part of U.K.. Since the average performance (in terms of GSCE and AL) is lower than the average of the schools in that district, that school is qualified for "wider participation scheme" by the elite colleges. She obtained an offer from Cambridge to study Biology because of the "wider participation scheme". She graduated last year with a very impressive high 2:1 degree.

Thanks for your sharing, I know some other schools with small sizes all doing very well in IB.
Also the same principle in HK, like ESF IS and LPC have aimilar class sizes and comparable.
