SFA have many ECA for gfited child to join and the teachers have experiece to handle them.

I know of a girl (born in Nov 2000) who took IGCSE in June 2010 (not yet 10) taking 2 subjects (Mathematics & English As Second Language). She got A in Math & B in ESL. she then applied for 優才 Grade 7 (2010/11).
The school gave her written exam & later informed the parents that her Eng. is quite good but her Math is not up to their Grade 7 standard and they do not recognized her as gifted. The parents were furious.

That girl went on to write the SAT(I) in Oct 2011(before her 11 birthday) and got 740/800 in Math, and a total of more than 2000/2400.

If a school can classify such a kid as "not gifted", then I do not believe they know what is gifted.

I think 音樂中學暨小學 is certianly not a typical school for gifted child but it done so well in nourish him. It depends on the cooperation of schools and parents.

你咪以為每年千幾人報名就表示優才好受歡迎, 只不過是佢地係最早接受面試, 所以大部分家長當幫佢地仔女操練咋. 到開學咪又收唔足96人. 開學後申請轉過來反而可能機會仲大. (我朋友是曾經是優才員工, 她告訴我知的)

我不覺得優才的學生普遍是資優, 個別突出的固然有, 但大多數只是普通. 因為許多真正資優兒童的家長, 並不會將優才列為首選.
校長的理論如果是有效的, 他的子女應該都是十分突出, 可惜現實卻不是....

其實大家細心留意一下, 你們會發現優才小學的網頁內, 從沒有提及陳校長在資優教育方面有什麼經驗, 甚玨他本人的履歷, 亦是諱莫如深. 沒有人知道他畢業於那一間大學, 博士論文是否研究資優教育等資料, 亦一概欠奉. 只知道陳校長經常出版書籍講及資優教育, 但當細閱內容後, 你們會發現文章十分膚淺, 只是一些個人見解, 沒有理論基礎.

把一群資優學生放在一起去進行比較式的教育，
一定會有一些資優學生變包尾/弱者。

試試其他的機會吧。

先說明，我對該校及該校長不認識，回復只是不同意其論點
說實在的，很多家長都不會教自己的小孩，即使所謂的專家，我懂游泳，但教不會我的小孩，
見他喝水了，就會不忍心

想說的是，不要將小孩與大人畫上等號，不能說該校長怎樣怎樣，結果他的孩子只是怎樣怎樣，所以
該校長也只是怎樣怎樣

我絕對支持JHU嘅意見。因為在BK裡，很多人都知道Fattyboy 對優才校長有很"獨特“見解和認識。到現在差不一個月了，教我小孩小一的老師每個都很不錯。
