Any mummies know how long is the waiting list for KCIS K1? My son is 2 yrs 4 mos and will be going to PN class somewhere else, but I want to apply K1 for 2013. I heard some moms apply to KCS first and then KCIS so that is higher chance to get to KCIS, is it true?

以我所知係分開兩邊排架噃, 你可先問KCIS果邊幾時開始報, 因我上年報KCS-K1時以為係同時報名的, 當日佢回覆是: 你係約第350個WAITING LIST OF INTERVEIW, 咁你仲報唔報? 排唔排? 就算交左500蚊報名費都未必有機會安排面試架噃, 你自己考慮下啦...............

When my twins accepted by KCS, I started to apply KCIS at the same time, they said morning class we will be on the waiting list the 250th, afternoon class will be better, around 30th, this year April, just received their call for interview, and they will start the class this Sept, but not K1, their reception class, it will be the same as K2 in local school, thus, I think still have great chance if you really want to get in, just keep waiting until they have space to let you in. BTW, my twins now are studying KCS K1, I am not sure it affected the result or not.

I applied KCIS when my girl was at 11 month -- even earlier than her application to KCS N class. The two applications are treated independently. KCIS will first interview kids who are studying at KCS N or/and who has sibling already studying at KCIS. Having said that, it doesnt guarantee their admission. It all depends on their interview performance. Good luck!

Thanks so much for sharing! So they don't have K1? So how old are the students in Reception class ? Any mommies waited more than 2 yrs for interview?

at KCIS:
Kindergarten (3 years old) = K1
Reception (4 years old) = K2
Primary 1 (5 years old) = K3

As for the waiting line, i remember my waiting number was some 15x even i applied that early. If my girl was not admitted to KCS N (so she has priority interview for KCIS), I am not sure if we can still be granted with interview for K or if we can still go for AM class. You might also go to 國際學校 forum here at EK which had some discussions about KCIS already.

That is so strange....

So that means i needa apply for KCIS K even before KCS N..???

My girl got accepted in KCS Nursery this year, will go to school in 09/2012. But i don't know i need to apply seperately, so if i apply KCIS K now, do i still have chance to get the interview coz the waiting list is so long?

Yes seperately! you can apply for KCIS since birth.
Applications for KCS N, KCS K, KCIS K are all handled by different offices. You better call KCIS admin office to find out your chance. They are very nice.

Yes, I have submitted the application for KCIS K1 for my son when he was just 3 months old which he attends K1 only in 2015. KCIS said they accept admission when you have birth certificate. And like the above mama said, KCS N can only apply when your child is 1 years old, so I'll still have to wait till next year then I can submit the admission for KCS N. Quite weird.

If u are studying in kcis, u have to give up kcs seat. Now, cannot study both side.
