我昨天收到GSIS來信，信件寫 -

We are delighted to let you know that XXXX performed very well and has gained a positive result in all areas of the assessment.

We are currently reconciling our place availability for the coming academic year and sincerely hope that we will soon be in a position where we can confirm a place for XXXX. As soon as we do have further details our Admission Office will contact you.”

咁喺收咗定喺wailing list?

Yes, waiting, tried to call the school admission office many times but difficult to get through. really anxious to know if an offer is there. what's your view on this?

I think I have already expressed my view, what they wrote was just a roundabout way of saying "we have put you on our waiting list" :-|

I think chance to get the place is high, I don't think they are many on the waiting list like other school ! Good Luck!

Just my 2 cents. Since what you received is a waiting list letter, by implication it means that firm offers have been made to other kids. The school now will have to wait and see if any of these offers are turned down. Once they know how many places are not taken up, the school will then allocate the places according to the priority list. So the questions are (1) how many kids would decline the school's offer? (2) how high up in the priority list is your child?

Any parents had any update from GSIS? I know the acceptance deadline of first 20 offers was May 2nd. Not sure if anyone whose kids on KG1 2012/13 wait-list receives further notice from GSIS.

GSIS has probably one of the HIGHEST application waiting list in HK among all the international schools. It's also a school where you can't buy a debenture to get priority.

If you applied for kindergarten at least 1 year ago, you would get an interview, but competition is SO high … siblings come first, children of staff, German speaking background ....

Good luck la. I don't know anyone who applies and is accepted would turn down the offer UNLESS they move out of HK.

I'm not familiar with the admissions timetable at GSIS but regarding CDNIS, assuming your girl is applying for Pre-Reception or Reception, I understand that the initial round of offers went out in March and so the 2nd and 3rd rounds of offers would have already gone out by now... So if you still haven't heard from them, the chances of your daughter receiving an offer from CDNIS are not high. Sorry to sound discouraging but do you have a Plan B?
