My only son is now studying K2 and a Catholic. So he has 20 points. I am checking the chance of getting in La Salle in the 1st round this year. 1/5, 1/6, 1/7, or 1/10 ? If the chance is too slim, I may change my mind. Please help me out.

每年祗有6，7個old boys, 加20-30 個弟弟, 年年都有50-60 個位比20 分抽

Each year have ~ 50 seats for 20 points (in the first round) and 90 seats (in the second round). Total seats for lucky draw are 140+ seats which has more seats available than a lot of schools in HK. If the first round has 14% chance and 2nd round has 10% chance. Then the probability to get in is 1- (1-14%)*(1-10%) ~ 20% chance to get a seat. ie. higher chance to get a seat than any 2nd tier DSS schools.

Very useful information! Many tks! If talking about 20 points (first round) plus 41 net (2nd round), what will be the chance to get in? It is because my Maths sense is very bad, I don't know if these two conditions can then come up a probability.

但我聽講LS到2年級就會篩選D學生再收D dim o既插班。如果搞咁多野讀1年就比人叮左出黎好似好無為...

無論係比人勸退定有咁既須要離開間學校,都無話無唔無謂,
唔讀過,唔係用家真係唔會知個小朋友適唔適間學校,
如果係程度上或資質上最終配合唔到間學校,勉強讀落去,
對個小朋友都無好處...我指既唔係 LS,係任何一間...

今年可能吾止7個 old boys, 家長會碰到識的都有 4 個. 不過都有好多 20 分的, 15 分都有, 正正就有個登記入學時排我後面.

Agreed and like to clarify. In order not to double count, 6，7 => father are old boys only+ 20-30 got elder brothers (and some of their fathers are also old boys).
