Has anyone actually received an offer from CDNIS for Preparatory (2012/2013)?

We received a letter from CDNIS in March 2012 saying that our child met their admission standards but is being put on the wait list until a place becomes available...

I received the same letter too. If there is no kid leaving the school, there will not be opening.

Do you have other schools on hand?

She received offers from two other schools but our preference is CDNIS...

I wonder if anyone knows when CDNIS will start asking existing students to confirm whether they are staying for the next school year and when CDNIS will really start giving out offers for Preparatory (2012/2013)?

Birkin, I think you can call the school and ask. I recall someone asked this question when I took my daughter for interview and I vaguely remembered the admission office staff said it would be around the term break in April- don't know whether my memory is correct or not. Also my case is that my child is applying for grade one, not reception year. The admission office of CDNIS is very candid and open. Good luck!

Just called the school. The waitlist is valid till 2013 June. My son's chance is slim as there are 40-50 people ahead of him in the waiting list.

Hi elock! What number did you call? I called their admissions hotline printed on the letter and left a message but they haven't called me back yet.

So they actually told you how high up your boy is on the waitlist?

Same question here. I have emailed CDNIS, but haven't received any reply. Could you please kindly share the phone number you called? I thought CDNIS didn't rank the kids on the waiting list. Thank you.

To clarify things, I also called the office several times and just got lucky one time.

They told me there are a few dozen kids in the waiting list and my son is not the first few.

Found the letter below on CDNIS's website today:

"Admission Application 2012/13 Status Update

We have completed the majority of our admissions assessments for Pre Reception to Preparatory classes for the 2012/2013 school year. We will aim to complete the remaining applications as part of our weekday schedule.

For children who have completed assessments, letters have been issued to communicate results. In cases where students have been unsuccessful or wait listed, we have received a lot of phone calls and email enquiries. We are sorry that we are unable to reply to you individually and address your concerns in a timely manner. With this in mind, please note the following points.

• At this stage we are not offering re-assessments
• There are a substantial number of children wait listed across all grade levels. Admissions will contact parents immediately if and when there is a seat to be offered.
• In regard to wait lists, please refer to our admissions policy for further details.

We understand this is a stressful time for families so we thank you for your understanding and patience.
