Thanks.
Some very interesting programs for career exploration like Dentistry, Engineering and Architecture...... and the Crimson programs also sound interesting for cultural exchange program.
I will introduce some credit bearing programs to my son, like translation and business communication.

If you are interested in the Crimson Summer Exchange Programme, you may find our experiences for reference.

Upon completion of the two-week program, the students will receive a certificate describing it as "An educational program tutored by Crimson Fellows from Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Yale, Cambridge and Oxford".

Students also received a Yearbook publication (~60 pages) introducing the programme chairman, staff,  fellows, co-fellows, event photos, as well as the reflections from some of the students. In addition, students received a DVD or online videos that brought back their good memories from joining the programme.

My son joined the 2010 Beijing Program and my daughter joined the 2011 Beijing Program.  They enjoyed and were making many friends who were studying in the prestigious universities, high schools in HK, Canada, UK, Italy, France, as well as from some big cities in the Mainland.  It was a blend of wonderful experiences sharing culture, learning with a global perspective, and visits to contemporary and historical Beijing landmarks including the Great Wall, 798 Arts Zone, the National Stadium('Bird's Nest'), the National Aquatics Center('Water Cube'), and the Tsinghua University.

Thank you for sharing. Sounds really interesting.
Do you know whether the two programs, in Beijing and in Hong Kong, would be very different?

By glancing at the yearbook, I guessed the two programs were very similar.

My son will study the program and he may apply for it. Also, the program may also count as CAS for his IBDP.

Hope he would enjoy whatever programme he chooses for this summer!

May I know if anyone apply the Crimson Summer Exchange Programme?  My daugther just interviewed yesterday afternoon, they have already sent the acceptance after 2 hours.  I would like to know if all applicants will be accepted?  After the programme, will the student improve the English and enrich their learning? or only for fun?  Any parent can share?

My daugthers applied the Hong Kong program and got the interviews last month.  It says that the application is o na rolling basis.  So, it seems that whenever the applicants fulfill their requirements, they are enrolled.   My elder daughter interviewed in HKU and got the offer one day later.  My younger daugher just got a simple telephone interview and got the offer as well (as she is studying overseas).

I also heard that the program is interesting and full of fun.

Thanks for your information.  It seems all applicants will get the offer.  Most of students applied HK programme, actually the programme is the same, however, my daughter interests in overseas experience.  A bit worry she goes to Chiina w/o parents. .  Any parents can share more, please.
