囝囝讀二年級,串字用很多時間都唔識,請問有冇方法可以改善呢?

我女讀幼稚園時(九龍塘名牌幼稚園) 外藉老師教phonics, 基本上, 識拼已記到大半,
另外, 會教找出每個英文字中包含的"little Word"
eg. : Teacher - Tea
        hit - it
       shop - hop

如果配合phonics, 效果便會很好, 我女默書通常高分, 除非大意.

另外, 食下蘋果提純, 幫助記憶 ^.^

所以我經常同身邊有小朋友既講,一定要學phonics,你會見到有學同冇學既分別,因為冇學過既係靠死記,記完又意忘記,而學過既就唔需要去記,只要去拚就ok,我仔2年班,從來默書(英)只看一次就識默~~

Don't  compare with other kids, every kid will be different in learning and different kid using their own strength and ways to learn language.

I myself have two kids, from both kinder, with good teaching of phonic training.

One of them benefits from phonic teaching and useful in helping him learning english, no problem in dictation and readings and all kinds of language learning activities in English

Another one cannot benefit from the same system of learning. I use other ways:

1) Still keep on phonic learning, start from the basic one, like the one who share the "little words". don't be frustrated, take more time and tolerance

2) Teach the kid "sight words", easily be found on websites.e.g. like, my, go etc.. several levels

3) Use the sight words for writing sentence related to life experiences, e.g. I like my cat (we have a cat at home), I like ice-cream...

4) Understand the meanings of these words, the next step is to write on paper first, then on a small blackboard using chalks

These steps for my child were useful and repeat the steps to learn new words every week persistently...+ online readings, to build up reading habits, at the same time, practice the phonics while reading, as some of the readings are designed based on the phonic learning systems.

理論上學phonics會好有用。可惜我大囝係學極phonics都學唔識的。所以佢係用死記的方式,記得多,識得字多就會越來越好的。

預備英文默書,有好多種方法。我小朋友主要係靠耳仔和手摸,所以我試過以下方法:

如果屋企有磁石英文字母,就叫小朋友砌要串的生字。
如果屋企有白板,就用水筆大大隻字寫出來,目的係用大肌肉運動去記
如樓上所提議,將英文字拆開成幾個小字或音節去幫助小朋友記
幫小朋友錄音,讀字串字,然後讓佢自己聽返。

不是所有字都要這樣記,抽其中一些總是記不牢的字去玩遊戲,唔知點解,其它字也記到了。

只讀坊間的  phonics course 不能全部應付。

我前幾年在中央圖書館借了很多本 phonics (有埋CD / Mp3) , 講解很多較難拆字的記法,

for example :

knee   (kn)  無 K音
knight  (kn)
Qu (不可以拆開)
ou  / ow
made , tape, cake,  line, quite ,..... a - e  
---dge
ei
ous
cious  xious
cial  (special, facial, social .......)
sion
tion
j vs G 發音

這些書令我囡次次unseen + seen dictation 都攞 100分。  全級英文科第一, 講明, 我囡資質較蠢, 不要以為我囡特別叻, 只可以說是我夠勤力, 成日口不停幫佢串字, 拆字, 解字。 還有, 她經常睇英文小說, 對串字很有幫助。

記得有個字, 很難讀, 很難串, 【Hedgehog】箭豬, 我囡竟然睇過一次, 隔幾日問佢, 佢即刻可以串到。

她的記法  :
He
dge (係 j音) ------- jhog
結果 記兩個音  he - jhog
到默書時, 她轉拆回來

he dge hog

學拼音啦,真係易好多。我仔仔小四,小一前學完拼音,讀小學以來英文串字完全無問題,遇到難既新字,都大致上拼到晒,通常只錯個vowel。

In conclusion, I think I probably need to have my son to pick up the phonics class again (he studied in K2-3 but can't really see he benefit from it) at the first step and spend more time with him to really the story book in leisure time.

睇番多D簡單英文書,佢會串字叻D!!因為佢睇得小!!腦較難記英文!!等如小朋友睇得中文書多!記中文也較容易!!

Sometimes the phonic class cannot benefit the child not because of the child, because the teachers cannot tune in the child's level of understanding, or there are diverse progress of children in one group, the teacher will be teaching fast due to some requests of parents whose kids has fast pace in learning.

If the kid cannot benefit from the learning, may need to find out reasons, or some kids may need individual attention rather than class teaching, especially in phonic learning.

我仔拼音都係普通,但是我每日放學都同佢串番當日學的字,日日溫,仲唔識就大大隻字寫在紙上再貼上牆,等佢成日都看到,暫時默書都OK,unseen就真係要靠拼音。
