囝囝剛考了flyers,請問如想繼續考這類公開試,是否考KET orPET?其實都是想將來考中一時有多些cert.在手?小兒今年P.3,KET對他來說會很深嗎?有小朋友考過這類試的家長可否給我一些意見,萬分感謝!

Both KET & PET are o.k. for your kid. Since you just took the Flyer result, I believe the earliest you will take the next test is Nov 2012.

I suggest you to download some KET sample papers and let your child try them. If he can do well in all sections, then you may consider training &enrolling him for PET. On the other hand, you can train him for KET.

Thank you for your suggestions. Is it necessary for my son to attend any course on the preparation for KET/PET? I read from the BK that some parents just trained their kids themselves. If my son does not belong to the type of very smart and bright children, should I still try to train him at home? Would like to hear your advice on this. Thanks a lot

hinhinmami,

I agree with other parents that KET/PET can be trained in-house. Your son takes the Flyer at P.3. If he gets good result, then he should be o.k. at least for KET self-training.

I just let my daughter to do the past exam papers and no need to attend the extra course for her.

BTW, I have a PET for school past exam papers book 1 for sale, bought it from British Council, orignial price is $350.
