My son is at TSL, he enjoys the school life, though sometimes for the Maths curriculum he feels a bit bore. But he has lots of space to read and to explore his own interest in language, music, science and silly things, no need to chase the curriculum, just get the everyday homework done, will be fine.

I think both are good schools, my friend's son do well at SFS, and he is a gifted child. Though I don't think gifted child has to be highlighted or "intense" development at this stage, he/she will do well anyway with parental support and normal social developments..no rush at all.

Different people have diverse views on child development, so all depend on yours. TSL is obviously to me more lay back, yet still with good qualities.

我和你一樣situation 同時有sfa and tsl offer. Sfa 讀書氣氛和升中派位好，tsl seems more relax and good language environment .

哥哥現讀sfa p2, 如果貪方便，一定係sfa,但細佬是一個超級active和喜愛英文的小朋友，所以有時又覺tsl 的教學方法可能適合佢多的。

這個coming sat tsl 有 open day，看完再做打算。

我每朝都見樓上樓下有5-6個 (3-4年級到) SFA的小朋友同家長一齊等巴士, 以下係我如實報告我所見(不喜勿插). D小朋友好多唔識排隊等巴士. 見個friend係前面就走過去前面一齊等, 好多次都係咁. 另好多時佢地會一路等巴士, 一路用磁石畫版同個女默書, 或叫佢寫在掌心度. 差不多日日如事,

讀sfa家長可能要付出好大的心機及精神, 我對呢間小學無研究, 只係識得一個朋友個仔讀緊, 朋友是教小學的, 她老公讀到phd, 但係都攪唔掂個仔, 年年考試都包尾, 每次考試全家都要請假幫個仔溫習, 包括爺爺同grandma, 真係鄧他們辛苦.

我2個仔仔從來唔需要我哋睇功課, 做功課, 測試, 考試全靠佢哋自己搞掂. 無補習, 成績全級top 3 內.所以同小朋友自己本身讀書方法與習慣有關, 唔可以一語蓋之.

SFA讀深一年架, 數學教中英文數。
我兩個小朋友讀TSL, 早兩日問過個仔, 讀書辛唔辛苦, 佢竟然答我"係陳守仁讀書就冇咁大壓力囉", (小三), 因為佢睇到其他朋友較多功課測驗考試。呢度程度適中, 冇話學高人地幾級(英文除外, 英文科真係堅深!!!)

其實SFA日常的抄寫功課絕對不多，只是英文教深一年，數學教深半年，而且是中英數都有。

我之前識個SFA家長, 我問佢學校中英數都有, 甘買數學補充鍊習, 買中OR英數, 佢話教果dd甘多英數, 一定係買中數補充鍊習做, 因9X%都係教中文數, 所以如果全英文教學就TSL, 如果小朋友喜愛讀書, 就選SFA.

SFA功課不多, 中數常所教程度可能是全港最深. 英文亦相當深, 但oral唔及international schools.
讀TSL同樣有壓力, 其實邊有小學冇壓力, 唔洗做功課?!

select SFA , parent must also works hard as well as the schedule is tight. Every cycle has dictation for English and Chinese, test frequency is a lot too.

同意！這個是事實，每個cycle有中英文默書。
Assessment 也多，但不會計入考試成績，就當作溫習吧。
好過考試才溫呢。

um....我唔會話鐘意讀書既小朋友先入sfa, 反而覺得肯定定地坐係度聽書, 唔駁咀既讀sfa就適合。
讀tsl既小朋友我覺得都幾多問題問, 老師可能比佢地咁樣問野啦。所以我兩個都好多口, 勁多野問煩死人架....

至於試驗考試我個人覺得tsl唔辛苦囉, maths果個小朋友唔洗溫書都ok (因為數學都係平時做多d先得), 佢地都係當練習worksheets咁做架咋。中英文默書唔多, 好似兩個星期先有一次。

我小朋友讀緊 SFA P. 1. 佢5係 gifted, 我同佢一樣屬於懶個種。講真，開頭都俾 SFA 程度嚇一跳, 過咗2, 3 個月，慣咗

If the kid is really interested in Maths & English, and a intellectually growing more faster than other kids, worth have a try at SFA, intellectually he will be more satisfying at SFA, even without parents' close supervision.

My daughter studied at SFA before and now she was with another convent school at HK Island. I like SFA very much as they really do a very good job to teach and trained up kids. The only one reason we move was because there was no secondary school. They helped train up my girl on academic very well. I dont have to worry for another other schools you kid joins later. Trust me SFA is much better than TSL. Especially for working parents, they will test and exam on what they teach unlike TSL, teaching and exams are different case.

Good day ha!

The teachers there are very experience and they are not that stuborn and unreasonable. I remembered my daughter was transferred from ESF to SFA and she knew nothing in Chinese. However, after having a good chat with my daughter's Chinese teacher over the phone, he started using another method to teach my daughter and my girl began to improve more and more in Chinese. As a parent, you need to observe your kids' behaviour and dislike. To find out early to help them when they face problem in learning. Hence, I helped by calling the teacher in charge to discuss and share my kid background as from international school to them, so they would know the student better. Otherwise, they will treat my daughter from one of the local kindergarten. Definitely, every teacher has no time to read every student portfolio so you need to step out to talk to them. Hope that's help!

In SFA, they have confident building and presentation in lesson such as project learning (where individual students must present in class), others such as teacher will pick some good language skills students to attend interview with a foreign teacher to be selected for their English Ambassdor or Mandarin Ambassdor. These are another way of building students confident in speech to represent SFA in all event. E.g. P1 application day will need ENG and Mandarin Ambassdor to speak with potential P1 parents on that day. They will share their joy at school and show their language skills.

For me, I choose TSL, instead of SFA. I plan not to register in SFA this coming Saturday. My daughter has been accepted by most schools, like APS, HKUGA, SFA. She has not interviewed GH and St. Paul Co-edu as their interview schedules crashed with DGS's. She was finally not admitted to DGS after 2nd interview. I think every child has their destiny. Just trust their ability and find a happy school for them. The academic standard of a school is not a merely concern.
