我小朋友應不是資優, 但對數學較易理解.

這個學期他跟我說上數學課很悶, 老師教得好慢, 教完又教.

請問你們會點處理, 點回應他?

我相信請教你們比較合適.

學校的程度係跟大隊，填鴨式。

死症，一個小小家長點可能改變到學校，改變到個所謂專業的老師呢？？

如果你仔女對數學有興趣，就可以課餘找一些深少少程度比佢做。

但可以選一些比較有趣味性，公仔多，顏色多的作業比佢做下。

Did you discuss with his teacher on this issue?

I did years ago. She arranged my son as helper to teacher other classmates who were behind in Maths. Just change the role, he enjoyed more in class and developed his teaching skills and caring mindset.

謝回覆&建議, 我還未有跟老師談及此事, 我想再觀察他一段時間才算吧!
這個世界學習能力的人真的有快有慢, 這是個好機會給他學習.

但在這期間我應如何跟他談好呢?

For the subject my child is leading ahead and feels bored, I told him to be patient, to share with his classmates the fun and joy he has in that subject. He also volunteered to be a subject leader to help the class. The idea is to delegate responsibility and let him involved more instead of detached from the class. After school, he can still be free to run at his own speed on the subject.

我仔仔都係對數學有點天份, 佢都有投訴出去學既數研太淺, 成日都仲係加減數, 佢成日嘈, 結果比佢上專補數, 個老師根據能力去比數佢計, 教佢其他數, 唔洗跟學校既進度, 我仔就好開心, 佢已經學分數, 乘除, 近排學緊 bar chart etc.

我同老公都覺得冇所謂, 佢吸收到就ok, 至於學校成績, 我地都唔太care, 最重要係佢吸收到.

I guess if the kids are gifted in Maths, it is quite boring for them to learn basic calculation e.g. + - x ... . You may try Olympiad maths which are more interesting and can train the kids' reasoning, logical thinking etc.

小兒十分之興奮. 不過老師就冇話他覺得班上嘅課程淺. 我只想他在班上上堂開心. 自己有能力便offer他extra courses.

我都好同意學其他數... 我個仔應該不是資優. 但見佢對數好敏感. 比佢讀了Stanford的數. 好輕易就記"x" 數表, 而且不用死記.. 更另我吃驚, 佢竟然處理到代數 (X+Y=10; X-Y=3), 兩個一齊Solve.... 呢個課程不是每個Topic都好深入,不會加減幾百, 幾千. 但有較多不同有趣的Topic. 如果大家的小朋友對數有興趣, 不況考慮呢個課程!

你小朋友也讀了Stanford Math. 有冇再讀next level 呀?對呀,Stanford (or CTY) 嘅問題好好, 但我仔都有計幾百進位. 我仔還有大約3星期讀完,不知道再讀不讀下去.

我小朋友讀緊G3. 對他來說不難. 我知道他是可以應付G4但我怕他太小 (現在5.5 歲, K3). 今年9月讀優才. 就算優才一年後會給他跳班, 我怕學校也未必準他跳3級. 請教各位家長意見.

你個小朋友好勁! 我個仔都係6歲才讀G1... 我都係怕佢太細.. 所以暫時停了. 7歲才去G3, 可能吸收好D. 你去港島區定Kowloon centre?

Fyi. GT's school handbook has liad down the criteria for 跳班 clearly. One of the basic criteria is to achieve the rank of top 3 in the grade for at least two key subjects (Chinese, English and/or Maths). There are other considerations listed also.

You may consider to post your question to GT's forum too for more input.

Thanks for your info. Advancing class itself is not important. I want him to mix with the peer and enjoy the class. Everyday telling me he loves school.

我想問吓妳地小朋友讀Standford Maths 個Course 係唔係自己報名讀就OK架喇!定係需要學校推薦又或者要份IQ report 証明小朋友係資優先可以報讀呢?

因為我小朋友剛剛P.1上學期成績優異,老師話佢比起同年Over晒,叫我唔需要跟佢課文嘅野,亦叫佢帶書同一些習作or數讀返學校如果完成課堂上嘅工作就可以做自己嘢,但當然態度要好啦. 亦叫我多啲比佢自己去不同地方,渠道搵資料同答案.幫佢更進一步. 但我只剛剛幫佢係HKU 幫一位讀緊心理學Master嘅姐姐做咗一次45-60分鐘嘅IQ Test, 結果係Verbal 128分,其他三個Subtest 達到資優,所以拉高咗總分,所以得出總分係資優,但又無講到總分係幾多? 佢建議我最快都要半年後先做番一次正式評估,清楚了解小朋友嘅潛能,因此我宜家未有一份正式報告.
我小朋友學緊E.nopi Level 15, 但我知道資優兒童係應該喜歡邏輯推理多啲嘅,所以搵緊其他Maths Course 比佢,佢琴晚先問完我1分鐘有60秒,1個鐘又會有幾多秒呀,咁1日呢?1個月呢? 1年又點呀? 咁如果嗰年嘅2月得28日或有29日又係會有幾多秒呀? 我只好用計數機幫佢計出答案.

Yes for Stanford or John Hopkins Math course, they both need a proof of IQ test. Hope this help.

請問妳的小朋友是否join咗Stanford Math 嗰Course呀? 但妳話佢唔係資優,但都可以報讀架? 因為我都搵緊啲Math course 比我囝囝讀,但未做個正式IQ Test , 所以未有個IQ Report, 妳小朋友都無做IQ Test,但可以報讀呢個課程?

我沒有帶小朋友做過任何IQ評估, 因為我覺得佢唔係, 只係聰明小小. . 而報EPQY時, 只係係Infokids做了個Aptitude Test, up to 佢地嘅standard就可以讀.. 用了幾百元...
