去年的面试大概是这样的，考生要进四个房间，分别是中、英、数及面谈。中文是看图作文及用普通话读一篇短文；数学是问三道题目，其中一道较难；英文是读了一篇较难的科普文章，然后问了几个文法的问题，以及用英文就文章内容发表短讲。

最后是跟校长或校监面谈，面谈内容天南海北，总之轻松交流就好了。

- really informative for parents like me - can I just ask one more question: 校长或校监面谈，面谈内容 will be in english or chinese ? and will mandarin be tested?

If you are lucky, you can meet our supervisor, Br. Thomas and principle. Then the talk will be in english (only one group can meet them). Other groups will meet other teachers. a passage will be given to you in the Chinese section and you will have to read it in mandarin. You do not need to answer any questions about the passage.

系啊, 我就知道LS有2ND IN, 而且要等2ND IN先見校長, 甘也就話你知收你....但系ST. JOSEPH冇2ND IN, 我見上面有媽咪提過, 話好彩最後一PART會見到校長, 但系甘有冇特別呢? 我就系吾SURE所以吾敢亂答個FD, 費時巨空歡喜一場....

Really? So the chance depends on who you met in the last part? What about if my son met with the vice principal? Does he stand a good chance?

最近同一個家長講開, 她囝囝現巳在那校讀中二了, 小學時是全級10名內, 依家讀得開心,但要追成績,因為個個都好勁!
如此校取錄了你囝囝, 他都好勁!

My son had interviews with Brother Thomas last week. Can anyone/current parents of St Joseph share your experience whether there is a big chance of accepting my son or now?
It is such a pain to wait for the result till July!

最后一个环节如果能见校监，不意味着你录取的机会会大些。但如果你在与校监面谈过程中表现好，而又获得他正面赞扬的话，那被录取的机会就很大了，毕竟校监是最话的事那个。另外补充一句，校监真的很爱每一个孩子，令我们做家长的十分感动。
圣若瑟这学校一贯的风气是学生高度自治，小朋友入到这家学校一定要学会管理自己。而正因为学生们什么活动都是自己搞，而锻炼了很强的组织能力，这对将来踏入社会非常有好处。就我所见，有些孩子真是很醒目。
另外，竞争的风气很浓，据说是小学带下来的传统，有些孩子嫉妒且不友好，有些让人压抑，这个可能也跟家长有关吧。
到了一间好学校，如何学会跟比自己更优秀的人相处，确实也需要小朋友更有胸襟；面对嫉妒和排挤，也要教导小朋友学会谦虚低调。总之，成长的过程中都是学问。圣若瑟的学生们思想活跃，外人看来是淘气了些，可是，这正是我想要的。

面試最後一環節,是四個組見不同的校監/校長/副校,我仔那個組是見校長,因為同組有同學,出來後大家交流,校長都給了很正面的答覆,我覺得校長半個小時見十個,實在不能說明什麼, 但如果阿仔答得非常非常好,一定會給校長好印象,在學校最後做決定的時候一定可以加分.

yes.....good luck to all.......my son said the math part was very difficult in the sense that no time was allowed for calculation. Can someone share if this is really the case?

深有同感。
聖若瑟教的不單止是學術, 領導和處事能力 (任由學生自行處理課外活動) 的訓練更為重要。
很高興仔仔在St. Joe 大家庭愉快學習了14年。

Most of the Josephians are very bright, irrespective of the academic results. This is the training from the school :)

I think so cos he looks like a very nice man, at least I think the kid will feel more at ease than if he was to meet with the principal - she would probably rate more on the academic side such as your eng speaking level, how well you can respond to harsh questions etc.
