Little Montessorian and DMS are under the same company, Childrenwork.

Little Montessorian is purely a playgroup but DMS is a registered kindergarten and prenursery school.

Both schools are sharing the same Montessori teachers. My son used to study PG at Little Montessorian but later transfer to study at DMS (Central).

Yes dms is a good school and my son is studying there now....will study the nursery there too.....

I visited DMS central last Nov.  at one point, I considered transferring my son there because of their bilingual environment.  It is also closer to my home, so I really wanted to send him there.  My daughter went to LM for a few months as well, but that was quite some time ago.

I focused more on their casa classroom as that is age appropriate for my son.  I don't know about their toddler program.  When I visited the Central branch, I was greeted mostly by the in-charge (a westerner, but not a teacher.  she said she used to work in Woodlands).  The montessori teacher who took me around is the putonghua teacher from Singapore.  the English Montessori teacher seemed too busy with her iphone and notebook to talk to us.

My opinion on their casa class is based on my 1-hour visit:  1.  only have basic Montessori tools.  Personally, I feel that a good mont classroom should have a wider selection of tools outside the original Montessori design but something that reflects the essence.  Their classroom set up looked very bare to me, but that was 4 months ago.  2.  not frequent enough school report.  I believe they told me an official report would be issued twice during the school year?  Now I get a 8 to 10 page report  in great details about every skill and tool + 100 or so photos showing me what my son does in class every 3 months, so I might have higher expectation.  3.  i just wasn't impressed by the English montessori teacher's attitude.  I brought my son with me, and she didn't even bother to be friendly to him, not to mention talking to us.

Again, that is my impression of their casa.  Toddler program could be very different. and of course, often it depends on what teacher your child gets.  I hope DMS parent won't mind me sharing this.  No offence intended.

As for Ms. Ellen, she used to teach my son at his present Mont school.  She is truly wonderful.  我個仔18個月入學, 跟左佢14個月, 至升上casa為止.  一返學就唔可以大人陪, 佢同個assistant幫我toilet train個仔, 真係好有心機, 而且對家長有問必答. 大家都知, 外邊好多toddler班都係要大人陪, 有手尾可由家長或工人執, 佢地事事要自己做, 真係少d愛心同耐性都唔得.  我有個朋友個女, 之前跟過佢, 跟住升左大班, 有次呢位媽媽同Ms ellen講起個女脾氣唔好同情緒問題, 令佢好困擾, Ms ellen竟然買左本書送比個小朋友, 內容當然係圍繞呢個小朋友本身問題嘅故事書! 記住, 當時呢個小朋友已升班, 唔係佢學生.

I guess I know which English teacher you are talking about....sometimes I see her without much patient with students....however other teachers are very nice and helpful... Thinking to let my boy study there for nursery and transfer another school for kg.

I don't know other DMS teachers. When I visited last Nov, the school was quite new and there was only one casa class. So the new teachers might be quite different. When my daughter studied at LM with Ms. Catherine and Ms. Lisa (I think that is her name), they seemed serious about their work, BUT my feeling was it was just work to them. When I tried to talk to them after class, they always seemed to be in a hurry vs. in my son's present school, the teacher is always ready to talk and I never feel that I was imposing on them. It was just very businesslike in LM. You get what you pay for - I don't disagree.

Btw do u know if ms Ellen teaches at both DMS and LM? If yes what toddler class she teaches?

ms ellen應該是在cw36所說的寶貝蒙特梭利之家, 不是在LM或DMS. 據我所知, 她曾在美國讀AMI. 溫柔, 有耐性和愛心.

Yes, I agree. My son is so happy to study there and loves Miss Eliza so much!!! I will do the same as you. Today I heard that my son's classmate, who is 2 years 5 months old, could really recognize and match with the words and numbers no matter how Miss Eliza switched the words and numbers. Since my son is 3 months younger than his classmate, Miss Eliza said that she will start to teach my son about it. I can't expect that my son could do it before getting into kindergarten.

bloglo: Which session does your son study??? AM or PM session.

Both of the teachers left LM long time ago.....

My son is doing AM session and will change to toddler class in May (2 hours with 15 mins Mandarin). I am thinking to let my son study there until June, as he will start his pre-nusery at Victoria in Aug.

Lately I got a friend who studied at Woodland but she is not so happy about their supervisor and the way they handle risk management of virus at school..I introduced her the school. She loves it and will join after summer.

It was a very difficult decision to let my son studying at DMS or Victoria. I will let him to try at Victoria and see which stream is more suitable for him. In general, my son got a great improvement at DMS and we love the school very much.
