通識模擬試近半人及格
【明報專訊】學友社昨日公布去年11月舉辦的「模擬文憑試」成績，全港近2000名通識科考生中，近半數人考獲50%或以上的及格分數。學友社總幹事列豪章認為，模擬試反映考生整體表現不俗，但亦顯示考生對個別題目的普遍弱點，包括未能緊扣題旨、分析片面及對國情缺乏深入理解等，提醒他們應多操練與新高中課程相關的歷屆試題。

學友社：未能掌握作答技巧

「模擬文憑試」有逾4000名中六生參加，設通識及數學兩科考試，各有近2000人應考。昨日的試後解題講座，也有500多名學生到場。學友社總幹事列豪章指出，通識科試卷滿分為77分，考生最高考獲60分，另有3.1%考生獲52分或以上，及21.3%考生獲43分或以上成績。

他形容，考生在模擬試表現不俗，惟未能掌握部分題目的作答技巧，例如有題目要求考生「代入特首角色回應80後訴求」，大部分考生只能提出普遍的建議，沒做到正反兼論。考試亦發現學生不熟悉「現代中國」單元，例如題目要求考生「解決產業發展與污染矛盾」，他們只建議增設單車徑，回應流於表面。

數學科文字理解力弱

另外，考生在數學科模擬試中，對文字題的理解較弱，個別題目考生答對率只有8%，故他鼓勵學生應加強理解及運用數學概念的能力。而因考生缺乏公開試經驗，部分人忘記在內頁和補充答題紙張貼電腦條碼、填寫題號，或無帶准考證和身分證等

我覺得學生答題流於表面屬於正常,通識跟個人生活體驗經歷有關,17/18歲能要求他們有多成熟?又不是生逢亂世,生活朝不保夕,形勢壓迫佢地成長.一句話,如果通識考得好,多因為老師貼題貼得好,model answer做得好.

To avoid so-called "緊扣題旨、分析片面及對國情缺乏深入理解等"，candidates may need to dig into question by doing more research, study & analysis, etc. similar to a project instead of an exam within limited minutes. The speaker himself maybe confused when he mentioned "提醒他們應多操練與新高中課程相關的歷屆試題" !!! where?
I think the marking scheme is significant & it should not be too tight as the questions are most likely open-ended & comprehensive. Otherwise, LS subject should not be too heavily weighted in U-application. Pls understand.

It was stated in the HKU admission talk that all 4 core subjects (i.e. including LS) and 2 electives are weighted the same in calculating the total scores. Therefore, students are eager to achieve high grades for LS, too. It matters.
