Any comments for this school ? Is it hard to get in ? I'm not so familiar with IS, but start to think of it because my son is very active and I'm feeling the pressure for doing homework and revision is getting to harm our relationship. Almost all my friends think he would be better off in IS than local school (demanding one), although local school was our original plan. He will go to P1 in coming Sep, my plan is to let him (or me) try in local school first, and if things not going in right track, we need to make the decision to switch in P2 or P3.

Very long waiting list in IS route now, most primary space will be occupied by kids come up from its IS kindergartens or other IS kids.
It is not impossible but you need to prepare for very long waiting list especially in those polular IS and you need to prepare your boy's English to reach very fluent or naive level for the interviews.

For Cdnis, unless you have some sorts of priority like passport holders, corporate debentures, sibling, the chance is low as too many applicants. You still in the the waitlist even you pass the interview.

CDNIS focuses on helping students to develop their own thoughts and ideas. It's very different from Asian teaching (e.g. Singapore International School) of which CDNIS focuses less on individual homework/ assignments but more on and group project & presentation. I worked with two CDNIS students in their last IB diploma years (Grades 11-12) and their training is almost like a mini business degree at university level. You may PM me if you have other questions.

hofl,
Thanks for your reply. So in your opinion, are the students there have good learning attitude and motivation ? This is what I think IS should be. Am I right ?

This is a very good school with nice campus. However, its very difficult to get in. unless you are very rich. ie. corp debenture + donation. Otherwise, very low chance..............

Hi Chongnicole
My daughter is currently attending P2 in a local girl's school and would like to switch her to an International School from P3.... if CIS has such a long waiting list even we are Canadian passport holder. Do you have any good recommendation on HK side? How about ESF Bradbury, Kiangsu-Chekiang or FIS?
Many thanks

Hyahome,
It depends on both school and student. The school, by all means, has every good intention to help the students to develop their skills and values. However, students need to put in the time and effort to learn. The two girls I worked with have very good attitude, are very positive trying out new things and are not afraid to take challenges. They received scholarship and was accepted to Ivy League school in North America.
