這問大家知唔知ESF中學生升本地大學的機會難嗎? Please comment.

Back in my time, which was a long time ago... we have quit a few classmates who have gone into local unis, including HKU, polyu etc.

But we did have to take some local exams like UE and to be on the save side, is to find a tutor and do chinese too

you mean you were not exempted from taking Chinese lessons at uni level? Chinese - do you mean Putonghua or local Cantonese?

thanks mattsmum, yes very useful info....

my girl currently attends P2 local school and i am still struggling if I should let her go for French stream from P4 onwards at the existing school or transfer to ESF school....

pls comment :)

We were exempted from the Chinese requirement for admission. However, since Chinese is so important, it's to the candidate's advantage to have some CRE exam or equivalent to have better job options. Many government contract jobs require chinese.

I went to a US uni at the end of the day, but I have a friend who did Law in HKU, she is a very successful partner at Baker and McKenzie now. She is ESF all the way from primary to sixth form.

Universities would consider students from international schools based on their public exam results, such as IB, IGCSE, SAT, etc.
