本人家住港島東, 小兒有幸兩間都收咗。若讀St. Stephen, 可能日後係要慳Ｄ洗錢, 是關加埋雜費, 都要預$10,000 一個月, 讀12年...但係佢又幾出名, 英文強, 活動教學, 中學行IB, 多元化發展。

聖類斯小學, 感覺亦唔錯, 有教無類, 學費加雜費大約$4,000 一個月。佢雖係英小(但英文好似冇stephen禁强), 可升本校英中, 但比較傳统, 及品德唔錯, 比較隱陣。

小兒有小聰明, 學習快但相對oral English弱, 若將來考不到本地大學, 應會出外升學。兩間各有各好, 但各方面實在相差好大.... 現在唔知點揀？St. Stephen 禁難先考到, 但用禁多$, 唔知值唔值? 定還是讀聖類斯讀到F.4, 早Ｄ去外國升學,學好番Ｄ英文呢？

希望給我一點意見, 虛心請教。

錦你有冇上聖類斯星期六小一預備班同感覺是否感覺良好？另有冇第三間學校選擇和出國讀可否afford同有冇concern？

sleepergirl - i have the same dilema - also other factors to consider:

st stephens is very far away - even without traffic, each way would take 40 mins

st stephens has boarding program

st louis - you can tell the teachers there are really caring. the kids are so happy to go to their sat classes!

有冇諗過去外國讀書都好多錢？而家最平都$300，000一年，十幾年後只會多而唔會少，一讀起碼4年。
比我會揀st. Stephen, 先衡量可見嘅未來，比仔女去外國讀書，好多時都係想佢地學好英文，但太大會辛苦啲，始終語言係由細學會比較好，仔女又係身邊，唔洗心掛掛嘛！

本人只得一子, 我們已有預備錢將來出國用, 只是從來沒有想過St. Stephen会收佢, 所以有Ｄ覺得頭12年再用禁多錢在這間學校讀唔知值唔值, (成積唔係好top), 因本人不是富有, 唔知揀佢定係選隱陣的聖類斯(佢英中係免費)。

其它選擇:蘇浙收咗, St. Paul's College waiting...

小兒有上st. Louis導向班, 課程程度唔太深, 老師好, 真係幾有heart...至於Stephen boarding, 我不大捨得, 但心知這是好體驗,可訓練佢獨立及將來出國

如果以學校硬件睇，St Stephen贏晒，兩間成績當一樣，學加雜費當St Stephen 每月用七千，計一年十個月，十二年八十四萬(未計通漲，St LOuis 當每月用四千，六年就二十四萬，相差六十萬左右。錦就睇你覚得六十萬換豪華校舍值吾值。

If you have so many concerns, in my opinion, there are lots of treasure of St. Stephen's which you could not 'seen', and it seems you will not treasure. Then, better to save $...

More questions you should ask yourself:
- among these few schools, which one fits your son the best (in terms of teaching method, environment, curriculum), and which one he could benefit the most (look beyond short term, life long effects/foundation)

- what are you as parents looking for? and what are your expectations on his education (high academic standards? creativity? overall balanced achievements on every aspect?...)

In any case, your open attitude, supporting and dedication of time to your children are more important to guide him through and pave way for his success.

I personally would prefer a coeducational schools.
Besides, when I read St Stephen's school teachers' profile, they seem very well qualified.

I really like their balance (not very pushy in academic, yet, they have very good results). And the environment.

Too bad I live too far away, otherwise, would definitely prefer it!

I think you should consider that the tutor fee is too heavy financially or not. If your whole family need to change your lifestyle very much for paying 12 years school fee, I think you need to consider. If not really impact your life, I think should choose St Stephen.

Sleepgirl,

Do you have 1 child or >1?

If your plan is to send your child abroad.  It is better to have a solid english foundation.

If you are looking for straight As record, St Stephen's is not that cup of tea.

But I can assure you that my girl's Eng ability is far beyond my imagination. Also, she can speak PTH well.

Which ever you choose, good luck!  And I'm sure you have a rank in your heart.

其實只有P6係規定要住宿舍
我舊同事個仔P6就住宿舍, 之前D同學都相處左5年, 對小朋友黎講, 住宿舍簡直係急不及待(有心理壓力果個只有阿媽

)
功課又唔駛理(亦無得理), 2公婆日日拍拖不知幾爽, 當預習下佢將來出國生活, 都係好的

love to share some news. a friend of mine grad. from st. stephen and since he's stayed at the school for many years, his attachment to family, dad and mom are relatively low. he admitted this to me....

well i am kinda emotional personal, i treasure all moments with my kids even ppl can say, it trains the kid somehow when they lived alone when they were small.....this is another view/ thing u need to re-consider...

其實St Louis 小學英文一點不弱, 英小嚟。

至於中學，我相信學業表現不亞於St Stephen。

論校舍設施St Louis 差很遠，無得比。
學費亦差好遠，St Louis英中免費，St Stephen每年$50,000+。
世事難料，除非你是公務員或已準備好退休金，否則揀St Louis 穩陣，至小可以儲到一筆錢。
我不認識小學部學生，但今年中一生就識兩個，英文超强，其中一個小學升上嚟。
