20分中個媽咪話佢去排隊交表個日(第一日), 排左一個多小時, 在她前面很多人都攞住家姐成績表or領洗紙, 佢自己20分都担心唔得......

Suddenly I realized that my girl was so lucky to be born 2 yrs ago......
But I think if ppl put st pauls as their first choices for the lucky draw, it would still be a great chance for them to get in since most of the ppl ll put Marymount as their first choice during the 2nd allocation.

Yes finished revising. What time your girl went to sleep tonight? Mine was so late tonight hope that she could still be doing fine.

I think so, putting it as 1st choice is relatively safe. But things change so suddenly that 20pts are no longer guarantee. I just start worry about my boy .........so worry.

seems parents are slightly more conservative this year during discretionary places stage.  What I notice is either there are more ppls with 20 points or they are more evenly distributed among schools which in the past have chances for 15 points.

At the end, there are more and more students entering P1 each year and discretionary places stage is open for all students.  It is very easy to fill up those places.

Been trying to find out the situation with SPPCS this year from BK and ended up, the unfortunate story was heard from someone I know personally.  Hope they will have chances thru waiting list.

Very blessed that my gal can get in with 20 marks. With regards to what Ian mentioned it makes me more inclined to believe its pure luck for my gal's case. Think that in next year it will be more competitive and the traditional "game theory" that I used (avoiding the most favorite school and opted for "less" favorite yet good ones) cannot work since "20 points" is just entrance fee not guarantee. For those with only 15 points, they should consider avoiding schools with religion in discretionary stage - yet those govt primary will be even more difficult to get in as a result.

I let my girl slept after she finished her homework yesterday...otherwise her brain may get stuck...so she started her revise late at night.

No pts for my boy at all... i meant only 10pts...my hubby went to overseas country since he was in primary.

Been following the first round in the past few years and this year is just amazingly messy! Probably will need to be do a thorough review afterward and see what can be done in the coming years.

It just seems many strategies we assumed from before has become less useful, too unpredictable!

Your daughter and your family were blessed.

Look at it more positively, it is an opportunity for parents to begin trying to understand more of those less famous schools and start to appreciate them. It could be a good thing if it ends up like this.

百年老店，當然有教學堅持，德育品行尤其着緊。

有計劃响現有校舍後面起10層新校。

但現有校舍係2級歷史建築，移動/影響/修改/一塊磚/一舊石都要/評估/記錄/影相/申請/古物辦，所以應該有排都未成事。

Basically there is a waiting list provided by EDB after they helped to perform the drawing (for same scores case) for discretionary places.

So, all these ones from waiting list was fixed when the initial lot was published. Some schools would choose to post the waiting lists too but some may not. This is not a required. For example, I remember St. Francis have posted their waiting list in their web.

So, the applicants may not know their position on the waiting list. But calls are done very soon within these two days.

also i remembered that i registered on Wednesday.... i remembered that the lady said something.....seems no 15pts students..couldn't hear it cleary.

By the way, i know the school will call the waiting list student one by one in sequence. If you don't pickup the phone, they will pass to the 2nd wait list...and so on, until they found someone.......so keep eye on your phone, don't miss the call............

There is exactly one 20 points on waiting list, and they have been called.

So, the rest of the waiting list are 15 points.

yes Kei Wan has more homework load.......as i've known....but we have tests and exams almost through the whole calender year. (because one 1 subject will test weekly, which make us very stressful, so as the kids)

SIGH.... u are rite...... just can't relax for most of the weekends....
Moreover, I was thinking abt choosing Kei Wan for my girl a few yrs ago. cos' my friend who works as a private tutor have students mostly from Kei Wan. She told me that the academic standard is comparatively high there. But one thing just made me change my mind...... I can't stand for the rule of "girls must have short hair above shoulders". Haha

........ now I m very happy with my choice since my girl loves the school everything is just rite for her

其實以天主教女校來講,sppcs真的不是太嚴,是很reasonable的.聽講st.francis如果留長髮,一定要紮兩辮,
在sppcs, even ponytail is OK.--啱晒我這個 lazy Mum.

我聽我FRIEND 講, 差不多日日做完功課都要背書, 唔係中文課後問答就係英文唔知咩!!!!!有記性既小朋友咪好彩, 十分鐘攪掂, 發夢個D可能浪費成個鐘都未得, 其實背咁多野做咩, 不如set D readers, 每日逼D小朋友睇2-3頁仲有趣......(just my own opinion)

這類地區名校相比百年老牌名校力谷程度更甚之！

My friend's child goes to a local school in TseungKwan O, they require each child to learn playing one musical instrument (but not Piano). That school is not a famous one though. Crazy..they also have 2 test each term.

都唔係架...如果小朋友唔能夠專心...家長一樣受罪...

我家姐話一年級已經要自己抄有什麼功課...而網上是無提供查功課...個小朋友抄到幾多就做幾多...聽佢講以前一年級已試過欠交...結果咪蓋個"欠"字係本手冊裡面...如果欠幾次又話會記什麼缺點....

我真喺覺得在這校讀書小朋友及家長嘅壓力喺大到無法想像！到目前我未聽過佢哋有正面評價！
