If i'm given an offer on Nov 21 via discretionary placement, am i required to register my son that day? and do i have to give up all other potential DSS offers? 1st time parent, no prior knowledge and i find the system quite complex.

As the leaflet said, register on 23-24/11/2011.

even you have accepted the offer from discretionary placement, your son/daughter is still eligible for other potential DSS offers.But once you have accepted those DSS offers, you are considered as giving up the offer for subsidy schools.
