Hong Kong Academy
Any ideas to share, general thoughts from HKA parents would be helpful?
I studied their school info on their website and appreciate some personal experience as reference. Thanks

Extremely small class size in senior years. Graduating class last year only had 7 students, god knows how they conduct their PE classes.

which, in a way, is really bad. Have they released their placement result from last academic year? It's their first graduating class so I'm curious how they did.

Why does it sound like you're so against the school? Could you please share your experiences?
The main reason why they don't have PE classes in Grade 11 and 12 is that they're an IB school - students take IB diploma. With 6 subjects, CAS, TOK plus Extended Essay, it's just impossible to squeeze one more block in for "recreational" activities like PE classes. I'm sure it's just the same in other IB DP schools. And I say "recreational" not because I think "PE is useless" or anything along that line. It's just that, if a student is interested in taking part in sports, they can participate in the school's sports teams, which compete in different tournaments locally and internationally every season. For students who don't take sports seriously, wouldn't it actually be a benefit to focus more on their academics for IB instead of being forced to be in a class they don't even want to take?

In case you're wondering, they have 100% pass rate for their first graduating class.

I'm merely stating a fact that with this few kids, it's very difficult to play team sports. You obviously value it much less than I do, which is fine. It's jut not for everyone. The 100% pass rate sounds great though.
