考PET吧, 但也只是多張cert. 並沒有甚麼大的幫助(如沒merit亦無乜用). 其實interview時一開口學校便知你斤兩多少了.

很多P5/P6都考PET, 有些英文好些的學生P3/P4(bk上見聞)已考, 那考KET還有用嗎?

I do agree with Yanamami that good grade at KET is probably not so useful for those elite schools such as DGS or SPCS. But if you are considering B1b or B1c or even band 2A, I think it is very useful given you got merit or above. As the principal of a band 1b/1c secondary school principal told me she wiould surely consider it.

Congratulations! Your son must be exceptionally good in English, and his English level is far beyond those pupils of the average. However I am sure most of the P.4 -p.6 pupils fail in such a test let alone having merit or distinction in PET. That's why I still believe such a test has some creditability and by no means useless.

Congratulations! But I have a point that need your kind clarification. Do you mean KET/PET are useless because your kid can get distinction at P4? Or, you mean KET/PET are good evaluation of your kid's standard of English? Or you just want to share your happiness with everyone?
BTW, I am a believer of an objective, non-school-biased test of the progress of the children. (Both Eng & Math)

My daughter took KET when she was a P1 student and got merit.

好勁呀！亞女p2考flyer.很多人已經話好好了，停了一年、明天再戰ket.亞女spelling及grammar比較弱、暑假要操下！其實考試是比囡一個目標，等我知道孩子的程度。張cert旁下身，可能有用。

Good interview is better than the cert.
Good school report is better than the cert.
If kid is studing in EMI school, PET is standard level for p3 or p4.
If p4 get FCE with merit, is it better? I do not think so.
No any advanced in these cert, just for reference.

Good communication and presentation skill in interview are the best.

I know of several cases of girls from DGS, MCS & SPCC getting A in FCE or IGCSE when they are in P4/P5, but of course not everyone. However, I would say PET merit should be norm for girls of these schools in P4/P5.

我自己原意是不希望家長以為有了那些英文cert，便可以有優勢，當然有小部份極端到小四五，考到FCE或CAE除外。
希望父母幫助孩子面試態度和有一份靚的學校成績表。這樣成功考獲心宜中學更有效的。其他証書只是充撐場面吧。

FCE 的題材幾大人下，FCE roughly IELTS 6 分，有大學接受這英語水平入學。

一個思想幼稚的英語神童都可能在9歳10歲考得唔好，因為題材問題。本地學校生要10 歳merit/distinct FCE (約IELTS 7 分!!! 入唔入到普通大學法律系？) 除了英文超班，仲要思想成熟。這些是尖尖子。

因為這些少數超班孩子而認為PET 升中無用未免不合常理。

千幾蚊，有冇用都考喇。
