Anyone receive parent interview of 王錦輝中小學? How many pairs of parents ? What is the chance of getting offer for those required to attend the parent interview? Anyone share. Thanks.

I don't think most of the school must hv 2nd interview. As you see HKBUA took 3 days to interview all applicants.... I would think 2nd interview is a must process than for those hv 50/50 chanc

We haven't attended the briefing. After the interview, my daughter said she did not perform well. As we are living in Kln side, so we have no expectation. Is it 50/50 chance for those that required to have 2nd interview?

As we found so much bad comments on this school from the forum recently, is this school really good? From my daughter's reply, she seemed performing very good in HKUGA. Anyone share with us about the view on WKF compared with HKUGA, TSL, etc? Many thanks.

我地都係住九龍, 我地都有去港同既簡介會, 不過最後冇報名, 因為交通太遠...
你話最近聽到好多wkf唔好既消息? 可唔可以講實在d係咩?等讀緊wkf既家長親自回答...
不過任何學校都有人話好有人話唔好, 你都好難由此得到答案. 我覺得港同 & wkf屬同類型, 自己睇下環境, 交通等鍾意邊樣....

I got some bad comments from this forum and other public forum. Roughly said that the teacher is not good caring (like one mami felt angry to ask her son go away from the school coz this kid may perform some abnormal behaviour at school), the academic result is not good compared with other schools like Pui Kui, etc.

Do you think this school is worth to set as your first priority ?

i just read the 1st INterview letters again..it said "Parents of successful applicants may be invited to attend a Parent Interview.'

So means success lar!

That means some of the successful applicants MAY NOT NEED TO BE invited...

And one more question please:

Do we need to bring our kids to the interview?

我地冇打算報pui kui, 覺得比較左派, 同埋校舍位置亦是一個考慮因素...
你話睇到forum講既"abnormal behaviour"即係咩? 但係我多數睇到人講小朋友讀得好開心,同埋據我所知佢地既英文會幾好(中文可能差d)... 而且我十分like個校舍...
係咪我first priority?暫時未100%肯定, 因為我仲會同呀女in多好幾間, 但係我都幾鍾意wkf...

要相信好多學校唔一定係靠關係或所謂誠意, 正如我去spcc簡介會上, 校長都話首重interview, 唔係profolio有幾靚, 有幾多張cert,有冇宗教等...

Not the same. Your time is better than us. Maybe request to change as I need to bring my kid to attend course on that timeslot.

We received the letter yesterday.

We are living in kln and writing our current address in the form. Mentioned in the interview day, about 15 percent will be reserved to Shatin, Ma On Shan, etc families. In some posts, it is mentioned that about 50 percent will be reserved for HKBU kindergarten. In addition, my daughter said she was not performing well (sometimes, she said she got "A", sometimes, she said she got "C", so not consistent

). Thus, we don't expect too much after the interview.

Maybe it is hard for our unrelated family to fight for one out of 50 places. We think that we have to attend the interview coz we are living in kln or hk side or we are unrelated family?

我諗收到信去parent interview只係表示第一round面試successful, 最終都要睇家長面試個表現呢~

I received the parent interview letter yesterday. I feel lucky as I am living in Shatin! As I know, they really choose only 15% of shatin applicants (around 22). That's policy which I don't understand why. In addition, I don't have any religion background.

In addition, just my opinion, they set the interview day on 24 Sep which is a perfect day. As 26 - 30 Sep will be Gov 自行收生 applying period. If both school and parents can show their intention and confirmation before 26 Sep, there will save many execution and admin cost. That's also good to test parents intention and release the chances to others. At least I will not join the Gov programme if that's true. I appreciate the school play the magic.

May be I am wrong. Pls take it easy and correct me.

I think IN ADDITION 15% for Shatin applicants. It is meant that

Reserve 22 places for "Shatin" applicants.

By reducing the reserved places xx for HKBU kindergarten, the remaining places (i.e. ~ 150 - 22 - xx) are evenly for all applicants no matter living in Shatin, Kln and HK.

其實我最想知道是否wkf成績差過PKC, 不過兩條link都冇點講喎....因為聽聞PKC 成績真係好一般，如wkf成績比佢仲差,咁就......

睇完兩條link，個人想法如下：

有行為問題的學生，操行評得差唔出奇丫。操行同成績應該是不掛鉤的。我諗間間學校都係咁架啦。個家長會唔會係老羞成怒？

我兩間學校都有朋友在裡面讀，跟據各人所講，簡單比較分別如下：
學科：
PKC: 中、英、數、音、體、美、成長科
(中數用普通話教，其他科用廣東話）
WKF:中、英、數、音、體、美、電腦、科學、人文素質
（除中文用普通話，人文素質用廣東話外，其他全用英文教）

考試：
PKC: 每年兩次（考中英數）
Wkf: 每年兩測兩考（考中英數），另外學期中間有六星期全校進行專題探究學習（進展性評估及口頭報告）

管理人員背景：
PKC: 校長為東華三院背景，小學及中學副校長均來自本地學校
WKF: 總校長為香港國際學校前校長，校長為加拿大國際學校及弘立書院前校長，兩人都不是本地人

成績：
PKC: 不少學生未達升中六水平
WKF:暫未有公開考試成績

家長評價：
PKC: 換校長後，學校越來越與津校沒分別，去年有大量老師離校
WKF: 英文科非本地課程，其他各科用英文學，家長如英文不好較難跟

就咁睇落，各有各好，各有各差.....但有一個共通點，就係.....好難入！

收到parent interview並不代表1st interview successful..我曾打電話去ＷＫＦ了解。。他們說。。有parent interview只是想了解多些小朋友背景。。最終都有機會不取錄。。

我相信很多小朋友也得到second in的機會, 在這個帖子上大約有十幾個, 自己的朋友有3個報, 2個也有second in... 所以我相信有second in機會並不代表100%, 我估50%都唔知有冇...

其實揀wkf都有d搏, 因為鍾意佢教學理念, 但係未有畢業生既公開考試成績support, 始終會擔心... 12年之後會點呢? 夠唔夠一般津貼小學爭?
不過有12年愉快學習, 教識佢地將來工作既技能(e.g. presentation, organization...), 我相信亦不會白費的!!!

Hope as u said la. But maybe, it can be implied that your kid is ok but need to fight for a limited places with others (i.e. marginal cases )?

Also, it is also meant that many successful kids can get the offer without parent interview.

but i am still happy for those who got it, coz it is really a great school for kids.

We feel quite disappointed the venue as well as facilities for P1-P3 of GT so much. It is one of our concern.
