i have the same problem, my son would not tell me if I didn't ask him. For next week, he said need to bring circle (and then said is star shape) thing on Friday. But I can vertify is it Friday. btw, my son is in N Lemon (b).

I just spoke with my daughter's class teacher and she explained the "bringing things to school" procedure as follows:

- Each Thursday / Friday the teacher will tell the children what to bring to school next Monday.

- Parents need to put the child's name on the item and it will be kept at school for a few days so that the children can do "show and tell".

- The item will be returned to the children later in the week.

I saw the red ball (they were told to bring something round) in my girl's schoolbag when she got home today and asked her whether she gave it to the teacher and whether she showed it to her classmates. She answered "no" to both questions.

What really happened: The teacher did not take her ball because I did not put her name on it and she asked my daughter to ask mommy to put her name on it and bring it to school again tomorrow. Of course, all these words were "lost" when my daughter spoke to me.

Last week, my daughter brought a red heart with the name label on it. I ask her repeatedly whether she requires to bring anything to school this week. She says no but suddenly remembers her class teacher has put the red heart back to her school bag. Yet, I could not find it anywhere and guess it was lost or in another school bag. In fact, she has bring 2 密實袋 from her classmates after tea time.

I also talked to the teacher. Each Friday, they will tell the kids what to bring for next week and can bring on Monday and onwards. Will use it on Friday (if I don't remember wrong).
Going forward, may be we can update what need to be bring in the following week.

我印象中SHOW & TELL TIME 係訓練小朋友聽指示的能力,所以我會等佢講我先比佢帶,你不如試吓hink佢有無小朋友帶嘢比老師,睇吓佢點講,我上星期都係咁問佢先講~

I believe the purpose for “show and tell” time is for 1). train the kids to take responsibility to tell parents what the teacher have told
them – follow and listen to instructions/pay attention in class 2).
Give them opportunities to talk more in front of group/build up self-confidence.

But for 3 yrs old, it may take them (or some of them) a few months to learn the instructions of telling parents what to bring to school.
If they keep missing in the first few mns, then the kids also miss the opportunities for show and tell.

I guess if we get the information through BK website and know what should be brought to school.
We should use it at a guide and try to ask our kids what the teachers have told them to bring to school rather than just prepare it for them.

Hehe…, this is just a thought.

很同意, 我都覺得要小朋友自己學會承擔責任, 無理由下下等家長幫佢, 就讓我問佢同學仔有帶咩介紹, 睇下佢幾時識得主動同我講吧!Thanks for sharing!

上星期我都有問我個仔老師有無叫你帶野返去?! 佢日日都答NO!
跟住星期四佢話要帶紅色玩具, 我問咗佢幾次佢都話係咁我都有同佢預備. 不過第二日放學我問佢老師有無拎過玩具出嚟,佢又話無喎!

My conservation with my son.
-What do you need to bring to school in next week??
-Circle object. (said by my son)
-Circle object again??  Anything else?
-Triangle shape object. (said by my son)
-Do you need to bring a photo?? A photo of Mama?? (I tried to test him or guide him as I know from the talk on Sat that the coming week should be bringing BB photo).
-Yes.  Photo.  But is BB photo not Mama photo (said by my son).

So, I really don't know do they need to bring circle object again.  but BB photo should brought up by the teacher.  My son said only few students did show and tell as not enough time...,i am not sure about this as well.

hope other mama can share.

Actually, my daughter has once said that that she should bring triangle but I guess she is wrong. She then said on Friday she don't need to bring anything to school. I think I will try to guide her again on Monday if she needs to bring any photos.

The whole process is quite confusing.
For this week, I think they teach square and blue color (if I don’t remember wrong and I learn this from the English 4 weeks plan).
So not sure they need to bring Blue or Triangle.
But Triangle seems mentions by few of our kids as well.
I put a baby photos for my son today, let see did the teacher take it or not.

P.S.我個女話佢帶咗D嘢返學校未試過企出來同其他同學介紹,只試過要同同學一齊玩,唔知其他人係未都試過present呢??

係呢,今日有功課做WOR,我個囡搞笑到以為上堂做咗(我估係GROUPING時做的堂課)。好彩佢都肯做,做完點點話要do a great job,跟住就油顏色。好彩阿哥以前的老師提過ORANGE & PEAR不可colour,只可油其他部分,唔係我按住我個囡就全部油晒

我個仔當年K.1開學班主任在開學日有講,但今年阿女的班主任就無講,所以我都無諗倒,所以當佢完成DOT DOT後,我想收功課,佢突然話do a great job,跟住佢就攞顏色油,我跟住醒起當年的instruction,估老師係咁同小朋友講炸,其實都唔係太sure.

My son said "teacher didn't say need to color" and when I took out the homeowork, he already know need to do "dot dot". He said teacher told them need to do "dot dot". I couldn't bring my son to school for the first two days due to body condition and my husband said the teacher said "need to do the homework with pencil only".
ai.., i am so lost. may be i ask the teacher later on. thanks for sharing!

啱呀, 佢地個班係好少男仔. 20人裡面得4 個男仔之嘛!!
上星期尾我個仔話要帶bb 相, 我見miss 係收咗既, 琴日我問佢, 佢又係答我no!! maybe 真係no!! ha~
