聖保羅男女中學附屬小學的小一入學申請，只可以由父母或監護人親自交回學校並當場核對有關證明文件之正本。(包括父母或監護人的身分證)

如果你所指"其他人代交"的就是其監護人，那就當然沒有問題了。

Do i need to bring the "real copy" of things such as certificates for them to check?

Nobody check my ID this morning.
Give them the copies of the documents only.

I just handed the application this morning, and they did not check my ID either. I could be anybody and they wouldn't know. In fact, I offered a copy of my HK ID and they gave it back to me without even looking at it.

Yes, you can ask others to help hand in. No checking of ID so far from what I heard and experience.
