According to the timetable, we should bring chi, eng, maths, perhaps thier teacher will tell them if they need to bring also the workbook. it is quite heavy to bring all.

Thanks for your info. How do you know the 3rd language lesson schedule? I thought class teacher will teach their English and mandarin subject respectively. As I know P1G2 is Miss Halford who also teach Japanese, but my girl said not have Japanese lesson or other language lessons yet. And I thought G1 will be Mr. Dennehy & G3 ? Miss Kwok, as she sounds like Native and did not talk in Chinese as I talked to her before (actually she is teaching French too).

I am expecting too.
I found my girl had finished her homework faster than in Kindergarten. May be not much Chinese homework, she was too slow in writing the Chinese. But she tried her best to copy down those homework diary of Chinese from e-homework (since she could not copy who sentence at class).

Ana took out the hw and did it by herself, i am so happy to see that as she was not so initiative in kindergarten. the quantity of chin writing is similar to that from her kindergarten.

Dear parents,

I found the e-circular or homework uploading time were vary. Sometimes you can find the e-homework list was posted before they 3 pm and then new one (Chi) was posted after 5pm as what Miss Lee (VP) said before. Then I found some circular was posted at near 0Am at that night while that was not important to sign immediately.

So it is quite nervous to keep checking their homework list online.
Just like today's the handwritten of chinese homework was confused and I could not check it online after my girl came back from school. I waited until 5pm and checked that no need to do homework with a release

I think that depends on the teacher's availability, may be they were too busy to update the homework list.

Besides the e-homework, the students will copy from the board their daily homework on the Homework Handbook. I wld say it is better to encourage our kids to keep track on this, whilst we do the double-checking based on e-homework (after 5:30pm).

I understand not all teachers can post the homework online early. And it is also the student's duty to copy everything by themselves. But somehow they might have problems to copy after changing the classroom?! When the school works is busies, they might not have enough time to do so before the next lessons.

I know the students in the other schools would have the chance to copy everything back during lunch time or the last lessons.

I am P.1G.1 Summer Kwok's daddy, I know yesterday all the teachers had a meeting after school and so some homework cannot be post on intranet before 5pm. As my experience, i sent e-mail and keep contact to the teachers everyday. My son just like dreaming this half month: not answer "present", going to wrong classroom, miss the homework, cant write the same amount of homework in dairy, bring others homework dairy to home, lost student card and schoolbus card......., but I know that he will improve day by day. good luck to all.

it seems all of our kids have the similar problem! >< I feel some other students are more organized and well systematic even they are at the same age!! :( Sigh..
I really hope they can manage everything sooner. At least they should be able to copy everything on their HW dairy and collect + hand in everything! I suppose it is not that demanding.
Today my daughter doesn't know she should do PTH assignment! ><

Don't worry cpcog,

Natalie always failed to copy exact content on her HW diary, she would ask me to log in intranet and let her copy again.

I was pleased that she have chances in participating different activities in school at PM sesion so she can focus in finishing her HW at home. She felt happy and made many friends.

Thanks for all of your words. I might expect too much from my daughter and I should accept she needs time to get used to the new school life. In fact she is improving in certain aspects.

I also feel happy that the children can enjoy a lot of different activities at school!

Referring reading journal, I think just ask kids to finish at least one book every two weeks, cos time frame was about 12 weeks for 10 books and the back of reading journal cover was mentioned to hand in every 2 weeks but no exact time. I think teacher will write notice in HW diary to remind us to bring back as they want. It's better to finish fast that I am afraid another Chinese reading journal will start soon. I remembered parent from senior class were complaining deadline of reading journal of both Chi and Eng was too close. And I think its hard for my kid to finish Chi one. She had 2 books with reports completed and better save time for Chi book reports.

That was a notice stapled on the HW diary some day (Monday), no circular online, just put $100 in the brown envelope for remarking RSP membership fee.

I have put the cash in the brown envelope already (also with the fee of the percussion course too).

I think they need to do Chinese reading journal too. Harmoni once said the teacher told them about that. (I guess she was not day dreaming at that moment. hehe)

It seems that our kids miss homework, notice... at the start.

Ana, at the beginning, the books, homework and notices are messy in her schoolbag. I discussed with her how can solve this, she told me that it's hard to separate the stuff in different subject bags, then i bought her some document bags with opening on top, now her schoolbag is neat as she just simply put the books into the subject and don't need to take out the whole bag.

Perhaps your child has different problem, let's discuss with them and find some way. I believe they are improving.

早起已是一大挑戰，特別是一眾跨區上學的，早上六時多便得上校巴。從鬧鐘響起一刻開始計算，大人細路輪流梳洗更衣吃早餐，保守估計要一小時，即天還未亮便要鏟起小鬼，魂魄未齊便要執行這艱巨任務，難怪新手爸媽們都叫苦連天，大嚷「慘過返工！」

好不容易執齊眼耳口鼻書包通告餐盒出門，等校巴，又是另一項挑戰。開課三天，已聞兩件校巴谷氣事件。

一個小女生因為肚子痛，錯過了校巴，爸爸臨時拉扶變身校巴司機，送孩子穿過隧道上學去。媽媽這才驚覺，原來小學的校巴真是名副其實非常非常非常像一輛巴士的，停站、開門、關門、開車，連串動作不容半刻等待。永遠只有人等車，絕不容車等人。

又有一個小男生，放學時不知出了什麼岔子，被「誤送」到另一輛校巴。男生的媽媽在候車地點苦等不果，突然收到校巴姨姨的通知，才知兒子上錯了校巴，唯有飛車去接仔，細路好像不知驚，可憐大人反被嚇得一額汗。

另一個小女生更搞笑，話說其就讀的小學非常環保，女廁沒廁紙供應，孩子如廁，得自備紙巾。才六歲的孩子做事甩漏不足為其，但這小女生已是非常精靈之輩，帶了一張紙巾入廁格，卻發現廁板有尿。小女生拿著那薄薄的一張紙巾，正苦惱應如何分配是好……

做媽媽的聽到這裏，好不緊張，心裏早已盤算是否應把消毒液連大包紙巾塞進女兒書包，女兒卻不慌不忙說：好彩，剛好有另一個同學進來，我就問她多借一張紙巾囉！這，或許就是成長的印證。

今天大人們都倒瀉籮蟹，難題煩事好像日日新鮮，要適應的事彷似決堤般湧現，但若干年後，回想這一切，我們總會慶幸，我們沒錯過孩子成長這麼一個重要的里程碑。

As per my mom, she never so nervous like me when i was in primary. Now, she always say 'take it easy" .....

My girl also worked on it less than 5 times so far. If anyone of you, are using IE9, you may have some problems while working on certain exercises on the website (i-learner). I managed to find the solution to it.

I would encourage all parents to motivate their children working on the material provided, particularly the planeti and i-learner. I found them very useful to the students.

I really want Ana to work more on these, however, perhaps she does homework slowly, cannot do the i-learner everyday. only does it at weekend.

Ana finds also fun on website of 現代敎育. i let her to play several website during saturday and sunday.

Why only i-learner is a must?? Is it because SMC wants the children to have better Chinese standard?

For this 2 weeks, my daughter has more time for i-learner so she can do that everyday. I don't know she can keep it or not when they have whole day school again or not.

we did i-learner and planetii 2-3 times per week, really no time to do it daily.

Maybe their really find needs to improve Chinese, i heard from parent of upper grade, they reflects that their kids meets problem in Chinese including writing and reading chinese.

It is quite relaxing for Ana now, at k3, she has chinese words writing everyday and chin dictation every 2 weeks.

I think they will have Chinese dictation soon if I don't remember wrongly.

In my mind, the ratio of Chinese workload is the heaviest comparing to the other subjects at this moment.
