小囡極鍾意看書,逛過幾次書局,個海咁大,真係好難到啱心水的.頭痛呀! 想問大家有冇建議? (ORT 除外,因為佢已經睇唔少...)

Have you been to the bookshop on G/F inside British Council? Some colourful books with listed price of GBP4.99 or GBP5.99 are sold at HKD40. I feel those books are good for 3 to 5 years old.

睇過以下幾個系列, 全部都好有趣, 又適合3-4歲小朋友(自己)睇:
1) Cat the Cat 系列
2) Pigeon 系列
3) Elephant and Piggie 系列

去公共圖書館的 catalog 搜尋 Mo Willems 便會找到他的書.

我女也喜歡Julia Donaldson 的書。另外，Charlie and Lola 系列也適合3至5歲的小朋友。

係呀，Julia Donaldson 仲有本 Room on the Broom 都好好，仲有其他的，不過嗰D我地麻麻地鍾意。

伴讀的話，Berenstain Bears 都值得推薦，教孩子德行的。家有兩兄妹的話一定不要錯過，孩子會代入熊兄妹的故事，好上心！

我囡囡很喜歡睡覺前同我或daddy睇有完整故事，而插畫豐富詳細的書。這類書可以讓我們讀給囡囡時，她亦同時看著插畫描繪旳情節的。
個人喜歡以下的書：
1. The circus ship (by Chris Van Dusen)
2. Windy Edge farm serie
3. Little princess by Tony Ross
4. Hutchinson Treasury Read Aloud (with different familiar childred stories, e.g curious George, Madeline...)

Fly guy 在香港的page one 長期斷貨, 我是上大陸淘寶網買的, 但都未能集到一套. 反而公共圖書館最多最齊.

Curious George是小兒其中一個最愛，兩歲前差唔多睇晒全個系列（但會不停有新書出），而家時不時翻睇亦非常鐘意，好似見到老朋友一樣。
最重要的，係d書唔係貴，一般書店$40本（無折），等得的話，上網買最平七／八折。

其實我屋企嘅故事圖書只限於 6 y.o. & under，
而且個 list 上面嘅書好多都係我幾個西人ST friends 嘅極力推介 for beginners,
其中有好多係經典，經典到係大家細細個必讀+珍藏

不過細B書例如 Clifford, Spot, Berenstain Bear, Kayu, Dora, Blue Clues, Barney, Curious George, Babar the Elephant, Sesame Street, Muppets 嘅 boardbook 應該有排都未有機會買返，由於好多都屬於太耐以前上個世紀嘅物資，大概搬家捐贈俾咗人。
我而家先知道我媽媽以前投放幾多資源買故事書
有時候行書局見到啲書真係會勾起以前嘅童年回憶，都幾溫馨令人回味。

你好幸運呀, 細個已有這麼多書.
我細個家中係無英文兒童書.....不過有少量中文童書.

我近年陪女睇故事書, 先發現好多經典故事真係好好睇.
香港既中文圖書太著重德育, 擺明車馬地透過故事講道理, 但就忽略左故事性同想像空間.
外國圖書比較有幻想空間, 多是開放式結局, 有時看完會心一想, 才明白作者想表達的道理.

更幸運的是我有一位喜歡去圖書館、逛書店、打書釘、買書、睇書、講故事的媽媽。
中文故事圖書多數借公共圖書館的
以前的圖書館沒有太多英文故事圖書，所以多數買

幼稚園時代嘅 ladybird 書仔先至係經典，經典英國插圖，經典到我重記得。

Well, 外國故事圖書故事材料較豐富，插畫亦較活潑及色彩豐富
，攪到我成日分唔到繪本同故事圖書有乜分別。
但傳統嘅民間故事亦有其獨特性，令小朋友更了解身邊大人嘅價值觀。

My son loves Marc Brown's "Arthur" book series, such as "Arthur to the rescue" "Arthur's homework", etc.

It is very relevant to what is happening in his daily life with interactions with his family members and school friends. And, he even pretends to be Arthur and his friends to play drama with me acting out the content of the story book.

You can borrow them from the public libraries.

He also likes Dora the Explore & Sunshine books, and the publisher is from Australia. I will buy second hand from website.

I have the whole series of Berenstain Bears and Little Mr & Little Ms, they are good but for older child.

再推介: The Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein.

感人的.

>>The Giving Tree is a tale about a relationship between a young boy and a tree. The tree always provides the boy with what he wants: branches on which to swing, shade in which to sit and apples to eat. As the boy grows older, he requires more and more of the tree. The tree loves the boy very much and gives him anything he asks for. In an ultimate act of self-sacrifice, the tree lets the boy cut it down so the boy can build a boat in which he can sail. The boy leaves the tree, now a stump. Many years later, the boy, now an old man, returns, and the tree sadly says: "I'm sorry, boy... but I have nothing left to give you." But the boy replies: "I do not need much now, just a quiet place to sit and rest." The tree then says, "Well, an old tree stump is a good place for sitting and resting. Come, boy, sit down and rest." The boy obliges and the tree is very happy.

Sorry if this is off topic.

Shel Silverstein has also produced many poems. My son has read his poems book 'Where the sidewalk ends.'

My son loves poems - both Chinese and English. He hand copies his favourite poems into an exercise book and askes me to read poem instead of bedtime story for him every night. In addition to story books, I would recommend poems to kids as well.

Huba, 有冇那本詩書的書名介紹?

Shel Silverstein 是早前朋友介紹下才認識的作者, 之後上網找過關於他的一堆東西, 發現這個人真的很有趣. 當然,看完你的回覆之後,又上網看了一些他作的詩. Good, 啱小朋友 ! (( 他始終還是比較正經的一派,不及Dr.Seuss的瘋狂 ! ))

小朋友天生富音樂感的,所以poems, rhymes之類, 大聲朗讀, 其實就好似唱歌一樣. 很好玩!
