My boy is in cat. 1 ESF kindergarten . Anyone knows if he is still belong to cat. 1 when he applies primay school?

According to the kindergarten teachers, they do not have any influences on how the primary schools categorize the children.

However, they do remind parents that if the primary schools officials found out, during the interview, that parents lie about their language abilities (thus categories), the child will go to the bottom of the waiting list.

Thank you for your advice. Are your kid in ESF kindergarten/primay school? If so, appreciate if you can share some more experience about the application of ESF primary school.

My husband is not chinese while i am. When i applied kindy , i truly mentioned that my boy spoke both chinese+english. And, ESF put us to Cat. 1.

When i apply primary school in this year, do i need to fill up all the information again from the
beginning , or, they will refer my personal details to the kindergarten?

My boy can speak rather fluent english, just i worry
he cant perform well in the interview(he feel shy in front of stranger). T/fore , i am considering to apply
either DC or RC as back up. Do i need to do so or simply just apply ESF only?

If i need to apply either DC/RC, which one is better ?

sorry i want to know the answer too.

my husband is an english & i'm thinking whether we should use "only" english at home until the kid can get into an ESF primary school.

yes, use only english until he/she can get into an ESF primary school.
