I am struggling whether to plan my baby for local or international stream! 有無人可以給意見or tell me your experience? 有人話要睇性格,但囡囡只有20months, 點睇? 會吾會讀international會吾用cantonese溝通,會not discipline?

Try those new private independent schools adopting IB programme and bilingual education. But beware of high and constantly increasing school fees.

一般而言，國際學校的學生較開朗、愛表達意見，但也有文靜的，不過性格、紀律和品行由家庭影響較重。

1) 英文- 名校好谷, 每日有進度表, 清楚寫出今日學mud, 目標學mud，保證你日子不狂過, 學費不白交

2) Discipline - , 名校好聽話，每日行程忙過你, 9:00playground, 10:00 中、 11:00 英、 12:00 motor skill training , 幾點... 幾點，好像姻登記處，如1班有誤，會影響到下一班用學校的設施。

老師每星期會call 你，保證你滿意。但仍有家長不滿意: XX名幼稚園，採用oxford reading tree, 我們是否要採用? 我心儀是XX 小學, 你間學校真的能配合到？ IS 就好impressed 我 , 有個鬼仔去完tolite, 佢又瞓, 又企，又坐，成10分鐘才穿回褲，老師不繼鼓勵他，成功後，他真的好'自豪', 如果是香港名校，校嬸一早幫佢。這些重要'進度'，有多少名校會向你報告, 如向家長報告，家長反駡老師，我個仔重有冇時間學英文?

雖然我quit 了名校，我好佩服那班老師，他們在這麼多的制肘下，重非常有heart。

may i know which IS are having good reputation?GSIS? CIS? i know there are pros and cons for IS, personally i prefer IS, but as i know it is very difficult to get in elite ones...

we are canadians and i think there are higher chance that my child will study U in canada, of course i will not forbid her to study in states or UK if she can get into a good University! Financially, i think we are ok, in terms of education, i prefer IS, but there are always friends telling me the cons of IS.... which is less discipline, less knowledgeble, bla, bla, bla....

If you are not familiar with the local system you better find out more before make up your mind. As you can provide good environment at home for studying English, maybe you can try the local system first with the back up that your kid would go to international school after P5.

do you mean you suggest local rather than IS?
i know this is a good way, but as good IS is difficult to get in if a child starts local system first, and i heard that good IS only accepts child from very elite local school such as DBS or if the child can speak really fluent english with good track records.

I knew family who are Canadian and went this route. Ls is for the chinese, as they want children to learn Chinese, they cannot read Chinese themselves.
After primary, they choose IS. They just don't care about what others care about in primary-- marks or teachers comment.

Ops, just realized there is another family going this route.

Yes, they both were in famous LS but their families uses english as the communication language at home because daddy only speaks English or french.
