My kids studied in Victoria Kindergarten Kornhill and they have no difficulty studying in La Salle now.  I think it depends on the character of the kids and how parents nourish them.

Hi HWMum,

my boy will study at the Kornhill Int'l Pre-nursery.

I agree that it depends on the kids themselves and how their parents nourish them.

I think if the kids are motivated to learn new things, they should be able to pick up new knowledge quickly.

Did you teach your kids Chinese (writing and reading) at home?

No, but I think it is important to help them establish good reading habits (for both Eng and Chi books) when they were small.

If LS or the traditional school is your target for primary school, I think attending a "non - international" kindergarten would be better.  I know a girl studied in Kingston Kindergarten and then get into a top ranked local school (by points)and she is having extremely hard time in the P1.
Most international kindergartens prepare kids to continue to go to international primary school, so kids are really hard to adj after few years.
BTW, i don't know the standard of Kornhill International, so my comments is not specific for this school.

Thanks for all your comments.

There are just too many options (e.g. whether we should move to Kowloon side now, whether we should let my boy try the Int'l Kindergarten first and if financially okay, let him study in Int'l school in the future).

Sometimes, I am afraid that the local schools will limit our kids' potential.  I was trained in traditional schools and had all my studies in HK.  I know how limited I am when working on some tasks at work.  Usually I cannot think out-of-the-box and am not sociable to meet new people.  If I want to climb up to senior management roles, I will need to open up myself more.  So I know what are the "harms" of the traditional

But anyway, there are goods and bads no matter which choice we make.  Your comments have helped me to make some informed choices.

Cheers!

I think the most important is to get a kindergarden that can develop your kids motivation to study under a happy environment!!

Would you mind to tell me how to get 喇沙會? Thx!
