My son is accepted for Y9 this Sep 2011. Please could anyone share your studying/boarding experience there. Thank you. :D

Concord College基本上是一所中六學院，只有少量13至16歲的學生。全校學生80%是讀Sixth Form，超過80%是海外生，東南亞學生最多，所以是一間international school，不是傳統英國寄宿學校，每週六都要考試，所以A-Level成績很好。

Hi i'm studying in UK boarding school now and I am going to cambridge next year. I have a few friends in Concord. I would not encourage you to send your son to concord as it is an 'international school' that means most of the students there aren't english. Typically in one year group, there can be about 40 students just from Hong Kong. This leaves him no chance to interact with English people. Not only will he not have a change to improve his English, he will not have the cultural exposure you could normally get in UK schools.

It has very good ALevel results mainly because it intakes a large number of students from Hong kong who completed F.5 (HKCEE) in hong kong and hence when they arrive UK, most of the GCE syllabus has already been covered in HKCEE. The good results doesnt mean that the teachers there are especially good.

If your son is aiming of oxford or cambridge, concord is not a good choice as his English will suffer, and oxbridge tends to discriminate against schools which have too large a chinese population as they believe that these students tend to be more like 'exam machines'

Hi, I'm planning to send my daughter to UK next year too. She'll be entering Sixth form next year. If she's also aiming at Oxbridge, do you think City of London Freemen's School is a good school?

Successful offer from Oxbridge: 10 out of 101 candidates

Not a very outstanding school over average. You can try but don't expect a very high level for the kid. By the way, your kid is outsider. You must believe that the admission officers would have bias on her.

Thanks for your reply. This really reflects whether the good results are largely attributable to CLC or not.

Oop I omitted the fact that 10A must be GCSE so it can't be joining only at 6th form. Has she finished A level yet? Are results similarly excellent? Thanks!

She is still studying in Chethem now. Another friend"s girl went to Imperial with 4A。
