Any comments about the following boarding schools :-

(1) Oakham School ;
(2) Canford School.

canford 好多人報,位唔多.oakham 相對容易考入.

My friend and her daughter took the entrance exam (Maths, English and verbal reasoning) and interview in Canford last summer and highly praised its beautiful campus and the sincerity of the Headmaster Mr Owen.

Also, they were impressed that Canford would not charge you a registration fee unless they knew for sure a place would become available for that grade.

Such non-commercial practice of Canford is quite different from some famous boarding schools that even no place was available, they would accept registration fee and invite hundreds of students to take their entrance exam!

Agree. Some brandnamed schools even make more conditional offers than they could have been able to, to demand for deposits, and the most important of all, to get a pool of candidates in hand waiting forever, to the best interest of the schools ...
